World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims in Malad

Malad, Mumbai ( Maharashtra ): The World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims was held to remember those who died or were injured from road crashes, and the plight of their loved ones who must cope with the consequences of their deaths or injuries.

This day was organized by BK Kunti, National Coordinator of the Transport and Travel Wing in Liberty Garden, Malad.

Many traffic officers joined as guests for this program.  The key guest was Traffic Inspector Mahesh Aparaj, who explained the importance of following traffic rules by all. He mentioned that there are a lot of accidents due to carelessness by the youth. He urged the entire audience to talk to their children and ask them to follow the traffic rules.

BK Kunti explained the importance of being spiritual, and keeping the mind calm while driving to avoid accidents. She also mentioned that one should avoid the use of mobile phones while driving, because any kind of news on the phone, good or bad, may distract our mind, which can lead to accidents. That is why one should park his/her mind in a proper place before driving to avoid accidents.

After the brief talk, everyone spent a few moments of silence and candles were lit in the remembrance of road accident victims.

This was followed by one hour of meditation for the road accident victims and their families.
