Borivali, Mumbai ( Maharashtra ): The Transport Wing of Brahma Kumaris organized a virtual event in observance of the UN World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.
Dignitaries from 9 countries including India, USA, UK, Australia, Russia, Mauritius, Spain, Philippines and Sri Lanka joined this event to share their thoughts and prayers. BK Sister Jayanti, BK Brijmohan, BK Sister Shivani, BK Sister Divya and BK Suraj shared practical tips interspersed with spiritual wisdom for a safer world.
Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport & Highways in the Government of India, in his address, said that, “The UN World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims is very important. Really, as far as our society is concerned, it is the most important responsibility for all of us to help them. Today in the whole world these victims are facing very crucial problem and that is exactly the need of the hour to help them. To help them and help them create a livelihood sustainability is very important to all of us.”
I really appreciate the UN World day in which they are going to create awareness in the mind of the people. Brahma Kumaris are very much committed for this cause. They are helping the people. We are very proud of their work. In India every year, we are facing 5 lakh (500,000) accidents, 1.5 lakh (150,000) deaths and at least 3 lakh (300,000) people are injured. We need to avoid accidents. Road safety is the highest safety for all of us.
On this day we are creating awareness in the mind of the people; it is the duty of society to help the victims. I am really giving all my best wishes to this noble cause, for the welfare of poor people who are facing road accidents and problems faced due to that .. Economic, social, medical, health problems, etc. By creating awareness we can 100% help them. All best wishes to this day and all type of support to the project, to all NGO’s and organizations who are helping the poor, who are the victims of the accidents,” he added.
Brahma Kumaris centers worldwide are also conducting world peace mediation hour today for the victims of the road accidents.
