New Delhi: The Brahma Kumaris called upon new Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankar, at his official residence, Upa Rashtrapati Bhawan, in New Delhi. A team of Brahma Kumaris with BK Brij Mohan, Additional Secretary General of Brahma Kumaris, BK Asha, Director of ORC Gurugram, BK Hussain and others, met with the dignitary on this occasion.
At this meeting, the Vice President deeply appreciated the important service of character building through spiritual knowledge, being done by the Brahma Kumaris all over the world. He said that in today’s society, where values are greatly degraded, Brahma Kumaris is doing very elevated work. He specially mentioned the remarkable programs held by the Brahma Kumaris worldwide on International Yoga Day in collaboration with the Indian diplomatic missions abroad.
BK Brij Mohan apprised the Vice President about regular Rajyoga classes at BK centers all over India and abroad. No Hatha Yoga postures are taught there, but Rajyoga Meditation is the focus. One is taught to remain in the soul conscious state and establish a connection with the Supreme Soul. Rajyoga is not a part time thing but a lifestyle. The Vice President responded that he also agrees that Yoga is meditation.
In the spiritual discussion that followed, BK Brij Mohan apprised the dignitary of the fundamentals of a Rajyogi lifestyle. Sattvic or pure food, getting up early morning and doing meditation, bathing at specific time to maintain hygiene, are very important. These are also taught to foreigners in accordance with the Indian culture. The Vice President expressed great happiness on hearing this. He also interacted with BK Asha and BK Hussain, asking about their educational background and appreciating their Godly services and penance. He expressed his wish for a longer meeting next time.
BK Brij Mohan invited the Honorable Vice President to Mount Abu, the International Headquarters of Brahma Kumaris and also told him about the solar plant, modern Kitchen and other Godly services being done there. The VP also expressed his desire to visit Mount Abu.
