Australia : In Australia for the first time, BK Marcelo, the National Co-ordinator of the Brahma Kumaris in Colombia, visited Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Hobart, Melbourne and Sydney. He conducted several talks for the public in English, three in Spanish, and one in Portuguese. For BKs, he gave classes, and ran a half-day workshop at Five Dock in Sydney.
In Brisbane, BK Marcelo presented his thoughts about ‘Living a Very Healthy Life’ to an enthusiastic general gathering of 25, which was followed up by the customary chai (tea) and chit chat.
A modest Spanish-speaking group from South America took benefit from an advanced class by Marcelo, and an evening meditation was followed by a Question-and-Answer session.
Two programs were conducted by the BK Gold Coast center, both on the topic of ‘Synchronicity, How to get in Tune with Life.’
BK Marcelo gave a talk at the BK Hobart Centre on ‘Growing in a Shark Environment without Becoming One.’
BK Marcelo conducted a class in Spanish on ‘Self Leadership.’ He gave a great class on ‘Using the Power of Tolerance and Acceptance’ with a very lively and engaging group of 50.
At the Baxter Retreat Centre and in McKinnon he shared on ‘The Power of Tolerance’ with 20 people. He said “build a bridge for the self to others,” and remember that “I also have weaknesses… in order to be more tolerant of others.”
In McKinnon he conducted a BK class on having good vision, and described four visions for 1. God, 2. Self, 3. Others, 4. The world. He shared how important it is to keep spinning the discus of self-realisation, and to have good vision on the self. He shared that Dadi’s (Dadi Prakashmani) passing away affected him, and as Dadi had said she never lied, he declared he would never lie again, especially to himself.
BK Marcelo was at the Centre for Spiritual Learning, Peninsula, as one of the main facilitators for the IT National Retreat.
In Sydney, BK Marcelo gave a talk at the main center of Five Dock in the Thursday night Spirituality Matters series on ‘The power of YES’. About 30 people listened as he spoke about how saying ‘yes’ opens the heart and opens doors to opportunities and solutions.
BK Marcelo conducted an entertaining and thought-provoking half-day workshop for BKs on ‘How to make Brahmin Life Easy’. About 35 BKs participated, and the three hours passed quickly with an engaging presentation, interactive activities, humor and discussion.
He gave a talk in Portuguese on the ‘Wisdom to Overcome Problems’. A lively group of 12 enjoyed the program.
BK Marcelo also gave a talk in Spanish on the topic ‘Forget, Forgive and Forge a New Life’. It was lovely to have him visit and share his wisdom, easiness and enthusiasm.
