The services provided by Brahma Kumaris to the community are great : Councillor Abdi Aden, Mayor of Brent

Inner Space Wembley, UK :  In honour of the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II a special event ‘Vision of the Future – Hope, Healing and Happiness‘  was held at Wembley Inner Space, attended by Councillor Ketan Sheth of Wembley Central Ward, Brent Mayor-Councillor Abdi Aden, Rabbi Jeff Berger of Wembley Sephardi Synagogue, The Right Reverend John Sherrington, Auxiliary Bishop of Westminster, Imam Monawar Hussain, MBE DL, more than 50 people who joined in person, and 200 people online.

Councillor Ketan Sheth of Wembley Central Ward, and Chair of the Community and Wellbeing Scrutiny Committee, welcomed everyone warmly and spoke of how, despite the cost of living crisis, we all came together to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. It was, he said, ‘our collective showcasing of our hope, healing and happiness.’  Speaking of the Queen as ‘the thread that runs through our collective story,’ he appreciated how ‘during our reign every aspect of our lives have changed but she has not changed.’ He then read Philip Larkin’s poem, ‘Coming,’ which talks of ‘adult reconciling’ and has the powerful, repeated line: ‘It will be spring soon.’

Councillor Abdi Aden, Mayor of Brent, said, I heard yesterday about the Brahma Kumaris and the services they provide the community was very great. All services are free – I’m very glad to hear that. Thank you for coming here and taking part in this very, very special event. I can see all the faces are happy and I wish I could stay for awhile and enjoy this happiness. Personal thanks to Ketan Sheth for his support. I will continue to come here in the future.

Three talented young musicians, Rikhil Raithatha, Tejal Pankhania, and Shivani Unadkat, then played a beautiful piece with flute, sitar, and tabla.
