Seven Day Resilience program on balancing mind and body

Chandigarh ( Punjab ): In collaboration with Spiritual Applications Research Centre (SpARC) wing of Brahma Kumaris Chandigarh, TrendsaModa club of Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College, Chandigarh began with the second season of resilience program on balancing mind and body. The programme was attended by around 70 participants and conducted in online mode from 9 to 15 January for the mental well being of students and faculty.

The opening day of the programme, i.e., 9 January was presided over by senior Raj Yogi teacher Brahma Kumari Anita Didi who was the Chief Guest on the occasion. She shared her blessings and encouraged the participants to bring positive change in life by exploring their spiritual side.

Principal of the college, Dr Ajay Sharma also emphasised on the importance of possessing positive attitude in life and was keen on organising such programmes in future in offline mode. The sessions were conducted over a period of 7 days by four resource persons.

The sessions on Days 1 and 2 (9-10 January) were conducted by Brahma Kumari Preeti , Raj Yogi teacher at Global Peace House, Sector 15, Chandigarh who also happens to be an alumnus of the college. She elucidated the term ‘Consciousness’ and decoded its inherent qualities through the acronym ‘KPPLHBP’ which stands for Knowledge, Purity, Peace, Love, Happiness, Bliss and Power. She also explained working of the soul in the form of three faculties working at three different levels, i.e., Mind, Intellect and Impressions.

The sessions on Days 3 and 4 (11-12 January) were conducted by Brahma Kumari Poonam who simplified the concept of ‘peace of mind’ and broke down the concept in terms of overcoming thoughts of doubt, worry, fear and embracing the beauty of every situation without any inner conflict. She also enlightened the participants of the virtue of parts of human body through which one gains the qualities of consciousness.

Days 5 and 6 (13-14 January) were conducted by Brahma Kumari Neha, Senior Rajyoga teacher at Rajyoga Bhawan , Sector 33, Chandigarh who familiarised the participants with the concept of ‘Rajyog Meditation’ and its process. She explained the significance of meditation which helps in exploring the world inside which further leads to finding the roots of problems and solutions to those problems. She also guided as to how meditation helps connect to God’s power to energise oneself. She also clarified the misconceptions about meditation and that it is different from reciting prayer, mantra chanting, fasting etc.

Day 7 (15 January) was conducted by Brahma Kumari Shobhika who focused on ‘Rajyog Meditation’ as an inside out approach which helps in ruling self, conducting self talk and creating good thoughts about self, incorporating values like truthfulness, forgiveness, simplicity, helping, etc. She also stressed on strengthening inner powers which include power of withdrawal, power to let go, tolerance power, power to accommodate, power to discriminate, decision making power, power to face and power to cooperate. Not only this, she also shared evidences in the form of scientific research papers from the field of Medical Science elaborating the power of subconscious mind, thoughts and impressions.
The session was followed by Valedictory session.

Expressing happiness over successful completion of the programme, Dr Ajay Sharma lauded the efforts of the organising team and welcomed Chief Guest on the occasion, BK Shweta persuaded the participants to align thoughts with actions and make meditation a part of life. She centred on working on inner self so that the impact of external influences can be minimised and that meditation acts as a channel for that.

The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Dr Sumita Sikka, Head of Department of Fashion Designing and coordinator of TrendsModa Club.
