Adyar, Chennai ( Tamil Nadu ) : On the ocassion of Mother’s day, grand celebrations were held in 4 different places by Brahma Kumaris Adyar :Vaikundh Peace Garden (Thiruporur), Shakti Bhawan (Velachery), Sembakkam and Alwarpet.
At Vaikundh Peace Garden, program started with a welcome dance. Followed by this, Kuthuvilaku lamp was lit by the honorable guests. Dr. BK Muthumani, Director – Brahma Kumaris, Adyar, Maragatham Kumaravel, MLA, Madurantakam, Valarmathy Yashwanth Rao, Panchayat Leader, Mamallapuram, Arivazhagi, Secretary, Anand Institute of Higher Technology, Kazhipattur, RM. Naachammai, Senior Technical Engineer, NPCIL, MAPS, Kalpakkam, Subha, Scientific Research Officer, NPCIL, MAPS, Kalpakkam.
All the guests conveyed mother’s day wishes to the public.
BK Muthumani highlighted the women’s contribution by quoting values and spoke about the women’s role in family and society. Around 100 women joined the program and were honored with crowns. The program ended with cultural events.
At Velachery, Mother’s day program was held in Bala Saravana Matriculation Higher Secondary School. Program started with praising mothers through singing the importance of mothers and their values in family. Followed by this, Kuthuvilaku lamp was lit by the honorable guests Dr. BK Muthumani, Director- Brahma Kumaris, Adyar, S. Mangayarkarasi, Founder, Bala Saravana School, P. Selva Kumari, Correspondent, Beta Higher Secondary School. The guests conveyed mother’s day wishes to all the women. 75 women from in and around Velachery participated and got benefited. Program ended with experiencing meditation.
At Sembakkam, Mother’s day was held in Jana hotel where 50 mothers joined the program. Dr. BK Muthumani, Director- Brahma Kumaris, Adyar Ramesh, PG Teacher & Association Head shared their wishes and the message of mother’s day.
At Alwarpet, Mother’s day program was held in Srinivasa Gandhi Nilayam Community hall, TTK road where 40 mothers joined the program.

The guests gave good wishes to all the mothers who attended the program. At the end of the program, roses were exchanged and each one appreciated and blessed everyone for successful and happy life.
