Rally to launch Drug Free India Campaign

Chowkham ( Arunachal Pradesh ) : Over 500 students from local Govt. HS School and Pali Vidyapith with Brahma Kumaris of Lohit, Namsai and Lower Dibang Valley took out a rally to launch ‘Nasa Mukt Bharat Campaign’.

The rally begun from GHSS culminated at Brahma Kumaris centre via Gunanagar to generate awareness on serious drugs abuse in the district.

In his inaugural address as chief guest, Namsai DC CR Khampa said that Govt. of India has launched the campaign in 2020, which has been gaining ground with support of various stakeholders, NGOs and community based organization.

Brahma Kumaris have been spearheading the movement after signing MoU with Union Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, he said, adding “Addiction has posed serious threat which should be realized by the society to take proactive steps to contain the menace.

Terming addiction “Next to extinction and half death”. PHED CE (Retd) Lupalum Kri, said that Mishmi, Khamti and Singpho tribes have been in great threat due to traditional opium consumption and recent synthetic drugs. It’s the time to wake up and fight tooth & nail to wipe out the evil”, Kri added,

Stressing the relevance of spirituality, BK Rajini from Tinsukia said that imbibing spirituality and practice of Rajyoga meditation will empower to free the self from addiction.
