“Rajyoga Meditation is the foundation for getting rid of addiction” : Governor of Jharkhand

C P Radhakrishnan, Governor of Jharkhand inaugurates Drug De-addiction campaign of Brahma Kumaris in Ranchi

Ranchi ( Jharkhand ): The Medical Wing of Rajyoga Education And Research Foundation,  in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India,  inaugurated its Drug Deaddiction Campaign in Ranchi. The event was held at Chaudhary Bagan, Hurmu Road center of Brahma Kumaris.

C.P. Radhakrishnan, Honorable Governor of Jharkhand,  inaugurated this campaign with a candle lighting ceremony and National Anthem. While speaking on this occasion he said that drug addiction is a burning issue in our society today. It has destroyed the creative power of our youth. Drug Deaddiction is not the responsibility of any one organization,  but needs the collective efforts of the entire community.  In many ways Drug addiction is more dangerous than any incurable disease.  Youth not only destroy their own lives, but ruin their families as well.

Knowingly or unknowingly whoever gets trapped in the habit of addiction and becomes victim of various diseases before time. This drug addiction is draining our society. Government is continuously running a number of programs to control drug addiction, but success rate is not satisfactory. Rajyoga is one of the effective techniques in this. Brahmakumaris institution has established its reach to every sections of our society. Rajyoga is a technique to connect with supreme authority and realizes transcendental pleasure. Positive experience reduces the requirements of narcotics. When people experiences meditation then beneficial feelings arise and detrimental feeling reduced which creates disinterest in addictions. Rajyoga teaches positive thinking. Instead of all odds and difficulties, people can create positive outlook and thus liberate himself from negative impacts of addiction. Rajyoga practice develops power to face and power to tolerate.

Governor said that Rajyoga meditation is foundation of freedom from addiction. The only motive behind all efforts of reduction of usage of narcotics medicines and its control is to establish a world free from addiction. Rajyoga Meditation techniques play a practical role in the realization of dream of a world free from addiction. Rajyoga is a technique to set mind in positive direction. It teaches the way to control mind, intellect and impression.

Honorable Governor congratulated the Brahma Kumaris for this initiative and said that creating mass awareness about the ill effects of Drug addiction is highly appreciable. Rajyoga Meditation is the foundation for getting rid of addiction.  It teaches a way to control negative tendencies and maintain a positive mindset. Rajyoga can help us realize the dream of an addiction free society.

Dr. Ajit  Sinha, Vice Chancellor of Ranchi University,  appreciated the Brahma Kumaris for this initiative and said that their action plan ‘Each one Teach One’ is very effective.  Rajyoga should be made part of the curriculum in schools and colleges to ensure our children are raised with good values and sound mind.

Dr. Onkar Nath Singh, Vice Chancellor of Birsa Agriculture University,  said that we should eradicate alcohol consumption from our society and the country.

Dr. Tapan Kumar Shandilya, Vice Chancellor of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University,  said that drug addiction is making our youth take the straight road to destruction.  We need to work together to give a better direction to their life.

BK Nirmala said that we are all children of the Supreme Soul.  This body is a physical manifestation of the same divine consciousness.  Instead of being grateful for it, people turn it into a garbage box with substance abuse.
