‘Prosperous Farmer, Nation’s Pride’ : Webinar By Nagpur Brahma Kumaris

Nagpur( Maharashtra): The Brahma Kumaris of Vasant Nagar service center in Nagpur, organized a webinar on the topic ‘Prosperous Farmer, Nation’s Pride‘.

BK Trupti, National Coordinator of Rural Development Wing of RERF and Incharge of Brahma Kumaris in Surat Varachha, was the guiding light of this initiative.  Dr. Vachaspati Pandey, Scientific Officer,  Organic Farming Nagpur, Dr. Rajaram Tripathi, National Coordinator, Akhil Bharatiya Kisan Mahasangh, which is a Pan India Farmer’s Organization,  BK Mahendra Thakur, MD, Ruchi Agro Firm, Executive Member, Rural Development Wing,  also participated in this Webinar.

BK Trupti, in her speech on this occasion said that farmer is the pride of this Nation,  but today their lives are not so ideal. If the farmer is prosperous,  then the country is prosperous.  This prosperity should not be limited to money alone. It includes prosperity of values, character, relations, body and material resources.  She urged farmers to start their work daily in remembrance of the Supreme Soul.  They should avoid using chemical fertilizers and pesticides and should go to their local Brahma Kumaris center to do the weeklong course in Rajyoga Meditation. She made an appeal for Organic Yogic Farming to be practiced on a mass scale.

Dr. Vachaspati Pandey, Scientist Officer Nagpur,  explained Organic Farming in detail. He said that a farmer owning 2 acres of land must own 2 cows atleast. The cow excreta helps in maintaining the soil fertility.  Pest control should be done only when their number increases the economic value, otherwise it is harmful.

Dr. Rajaram Tripathi made an appeal for Sustainable Farming.  Chemicals are making the soil unproductive.

BK Mahendra Thakur, said that every person who nurtures plants is contributing to environmenal health.  The coming together of the farmer, environment and the Supreme Soul,  is called Organic Yogic Farming.  Farmers need to adopt Rajayoga Meditation.

BK Rajini, Incharge of Brahma Kumaris in Nagpur, welcomed all the guests. BK Premlata, Incharge of Brahma Kumaris in Kamthi, coordinated this Webinar.  BK Rekha, Incharge of Brahma Kumaris in Umred,  held a short Rajayoga Meditation session with commentary.  BK Manisha from Chhapru Nagar, gave the vote of thanks.  A candle lighting ceremony was also held.
