Raipur ( Chhattisgarh ): Every year, 5th June is celebrated as World Environment Day. On this day, Zonal Director BK Kamala held a program of Plantation at the campus of the Brahma Kumaris Raipur Centre, Shanti Sarovar.
The Program was attended by Mr. Jagdish Prasad Chandrakar, Former Chief Forest Conservator; Former Divisional Forest Officer Mr. KR Uke; BK Savita and BK Kiran.
Speaking on the occasion, BK Kamala said that at present pollution has become so harmful that everyone has to take self responsibility. To save and conserve the environment we must pledge to plant saplings wherever empty land is available. We must be Nature friendly. She said that we are running after development. Neglecting the Earth we are going ahead towards Western culture. Now again we are required to return to Spirituality.
She went ahead and said we must minimize the use of plastic in our daily life. It is hazardous to the environment. Its use must be banned. Due to lack of space at home, people are growing bonsai trees. But by this, the environment cannot be preserved. Even if there is place around, people take pleasure to grow money plants. Interest to grow Mango, Mango tree inside the compound, is lacking. She insisted growing trees yielding fruits and shade.
She also suggested stopping the engine at a red signal and not playing the horn unnecessarily; by such small practices, we can contribute towards saving the environment.
Mr. Jagdish Prasad said that Nature is given the status of Mother in our country. He said, “We are not returning to Mother Earth to the extent we take from her. Earlier, ponds, wells and step wells were being dug in Villages. Thus we used to save Nature. But now the state is so bad that we may not be able to provide clean water to future generations.”
Mr. K R Uke said that now environmental pollution is a universal problem. It’s a matter of serious concern. It is all because of excessive exploitation of Nature which has given everything we need in our daily lives. When we start misusing them problems creep up.
Lastly BK Kamala began the campaign by planting a sapling inside Shanti Sarovar compound. BK Savita and BK Kiran were also present on the occasion.

रायपुर: क्षेत्रीय निदेशिका ब्रह्माकुमारी कमला दीदी ने कहा कि वर्तमान समय प्रदूषण इतना विकराल रूप ले चुका है कि हरेक को अपनी व्यक्तिगत जिम्मेदारी लेने की जरूरत है। पर्यावरण को सरंक्षित और सवंर्धित करने के लिए जहाँपर भी खाली जगह मिले वहाँ पेड़ लगाने के लिए संकल्पित होकर कार्य करें। प्रकृति से जुड़ें।
ब्रह्माकुमारी कमला दीदी प्रजापिता ब्रह्माकुमारी ईश्वरीय विश्व विद्यालय द्वारा विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस के उपलक्ष्य में शान्ति सरोवर में आयोजित वृक्षारोपण कार्यक्रम में बोल रही थीं। उन्होंने आगे कहा कि हम लोग विकास की दौड़ में अपने धरातल को छोड़कर आगे बढ़ रहे हैं। यह दौड़ हमें पाश्चात्य संस्कृति की ओर ले जा रही है। अब हमें फिर से अध्यात्म की ओर लौटना होगा।
दैनिक जीवन में प्लास्टिक का कम से कम उपयोग करने की सलाह देते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि प्लास्टिक का उपयोग पर्यावरण को बहुत नुकसान पहुँचा रहा है। इसका उपयोग प्रतिबन्धित करने की जरूरत है। आजकल पर्यावरण सरंक्षण के लिए संकल्पित होने की आवश्यकता है। लोग घरों में जगह कम होने के कारण बोन्साई पेड़ लगा रहे हैं किन्तु इससे पर्यावरण का सरंक्षण नहीं हो सकता। अगर किसी के घर में जगह होती भी है तो वह मनी प्लान्ट लगाने में रूचि रखते हैं। आम, नीम, करंज जैसे पेड़ लगाने में लोगों की रूचि कम होती जा रही है। अगर आपके घरों में या उसके आसपास जगह है तो छायादार और फलदार पेड़ अवश्य लगाएं।
उन्होंने रेड सिग्नल पर गाड़ी बन्द करने और अनावश्यक हार्न न बजाने की सलाह देते हुए बतलाया कि इस तरह से छोटी-छोटी चीजों का ध्यान रखकर हम पर्यावरण सरंक्षण के कार्य में अपना योगदान दे सकते हैं।
पूर्व मुख्य वन सरंक्षक जगदीश प्रसाद चन्द्राकर ने कहा कि हमारे देश में प्रकृति को माँका दर्जा दिया गया है। उन्होंने बतलाया कि जितना हम पृथ्वी माँ से लेते हैं उतना उसे वापिस देते नहीं हैं। पहले गाँवों में तालाब बनाए जाते थे। कुएँ और बावडिय़ाँ खोदी जाती थी। इस प्रकार प्रकृति का सरंक्षण किया जाता था। किन्तु आज स्थिति इतनी खराब हो गई है कि आने वाली पीढ़ी को पीने के लिए साफ पानी भी हम नहीं दे सकेंगे।
पूर्व वन मण्डलाधिकारी के.आर. उके ने कहा कि पर्यावरण प्रदूषण एक वैश्विक समस्या है। इसलिए इस पर गम्भीरता से विचार करने की जरूरत है। प्रकृति के अत्यधिक दोहन से सारी समस्या पैदा हुई है। प्रकृति ने हमें दैनिक उपयोग के लिए सारी चीजें दी हैं किन्तु जब हम उनका बेतहासा दुरूपयोग करने लग पड़ते हैं तब समस्या पैदा होती है।
अन्त में ब्रह्माकुमारी कमला दीदी ने शान्ति सरोवर में वृक्ष लगाकर कार्यक्रम का शुभारम्भ किया। इस अवसर पर ब्रह्माकुमारी सविता दीदी और किरण दीदी भी उपस्थित थीं।
