Chennai ( Tamil Nadu ): On the occasion of the International Yoga Day, a peace rally and Mass meditation was held at Sungvar Chattram on behalf of the Brahma Kumaris.
Near the Sungvar Chattram bus stand, the peace rally was flagged off by former MLA Perumal, prominent personalities of town and Brahma Kumaris Zonal Service Co-Ordinator B.K. Beena and senior Brahma kumaris sisters. The event was attended by members of the Brahma Kumaris organization and college school students carrying banners placards. The rally took place two kilometers.
This was followed by a Yoga Day celebration at the Happy Village Raj Yoga Meditation in Podavur, Sunguvarchatram. Minister of Rural Industries. T.M. Anbarasan, Mr. G.Selvam, MP Member of Parliament, Kancheepuram, Mr K.Selva perunthagai MLA of Sriperunbudur and Brahma Kumaris, started the program by lighting candles. Brahma Kumaris Zonal Service Co-Ordinator B.K. Beena gave the blessings.
Speaking on the occasion, TM Anbarasan, Minister for Rural Industries, Cottage Industries, Small Industries, Slum clearance board in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu Government, emphasized the importance of Yogasana and Meditation. He also said that he practices walking and meditation. He said that everyone should follow this in life and praised the Brahma Kumaris organization for serving for this.
Also present were Thiruperumbudur Union Committee Chairman Karunanidhi, Union Secretary Gopal, Chairman Shanthi Satish Kumar, District Councilor Ramamurthy, Bodavur Panchayat, Council Chairman Mrs. Jeeva Ravi, businessmen Ramamurthy, Vignesh Ravi and many others. Sisters Muthumani Jansi Rani conducted stress management session and Raja Yoga meditation. Sister Akila welcomed. The event was attended by around 800 students and the general public.
