About 90 BKs from all parts of Malaysia, BK Jyoti from Korea, and BK Lotus from China took full benefit from the retreat with the theme “Being Maryada Purushottam” (One with the highest code of conduct), to make each BK centre a sacred place.  The retreat began by welcoming all participants with a tilak, a rose and a special bracelet to remind us of our commitment to upholding the maryadas (sacred disciplines).

The retreat was inaugurated by the lighting of candles by senior yogis … A special project was introduced by Sr. Meera: a “Punctuality Award” where all participants were to be on time for all sessions of the retreat. From amrit vela (4 am) onwards, the enthusiasm of being punctual for every class and workshop was seen. There were a variety of programs, including class by seniors, a workshop, a panel discussion and an interview covering topics such as “21 Steps to Create a Powerful Atmosphere,” “Definition and Depths of Karma Yoga,” “Being Maryada Purushottam, using Baba as Karavanhar (One who makes us do),” and evening yoga bhattis with special drills from BapDada. Highlights of the retreat were the Blessing Ceremony where each participant was given a “Maryada Purushottam” sash, and coming forward to receive a unique blessing from Dr. Nirmala. On the final day, 19 souls received an award for their punctuality. The retreat concluded with the following CODE for making each centre a sacred place: C- Cleanliness, O-Obedience, D- Discipline, E- Enthusiasm.
