Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan with the Consul General in Perth

Perth ( Australia ):  BK sisters have been celebrating Raksha Bandhan for the last four years at the office of the Indian Consulate in Perth, Australia.

This year, Sr. Neeta and a guest were officially invited to attend a reception in the Duxton Hotel on August 15 introducing the new Consul General Ms. Dantu Charandasi on the occasion of the celebration of the Independence Day of India. It was a gathering of about 170 dignitaries from the fields of politics, business, academia and the Indian community.

The former Deputy Consul General, who has completed the BK Foundation Course in Padbury, Perth, introduced the BK sisters to the new Consul General. The sisters shared with her about the Brahma Kumaris, including meditation and their future events.

Later, the Consul General personally sent an appreciation email for attending the reception.

Raksha Bandhan was celebrated by the Brahma Kumaris in the Consulate office on the stage in the activity hall with the consulate staff. The Consul General welcomed the BKs with good wishes, then the coordinator of the Perth BK Centre, Sister Maureen, shared ten minutes of enlightenment on the significance of raksha bandhan, and also conducted meditation. Sisters Neeta and Sapna tied rakhi and gave toli and blessings, and gifts were exchanged.
