Abu Road ( Rajasthan ): The Brahma Kumaris gave impetus to its water conservation efforts by starting the ‘Jal Jan Abhhiyan’ (campaign). It was virtually inaugurated by the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, at Diamond Hall in Shantivan. Dadi Ratanmohini, Chief of Brahma Kumaris; BK Sister Jayanti, Additional Chief of Brahma Kumaris; BK Munni, Joint Chief of Brahma Kumaris; BK Mruthyunjaya, Executive Secretary of Brahma Kumaris; Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Minister of Jal Shakti, Government of India; Nana Patekar, Actor and Padma Shri Awardee; Muntashir Shukla, Eminent Writer, Poet and Lyricist from Mumbai; Maharaj Kumar Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, Trustee of Mewar Charitable Trust, and many other dignitaries were present for the event. The program was also watched live online by thousands of members of the Brahma Kumaris all over the country and abroad.
While addressing by video message, the Honorable Prime Minister said that he is happy to be associating with the Brahma Kumaris once again through the launch of the Jal Jan Campaign. It has always been a pleasant experience for him to be amongst the Brahma Kumaris.
The blessings he received from Dadi Janki, Former Chief of Brahma Kumaris, are his biggest assets. He remembered paying homage to Dadi Prakash Mani, Former Chief of Brahma Kumaris, after her demise in the year 2007. He always strives to keep visiting the Brahma Kumaris as a member of this spiritual family. The Prime Minister shared a list of visits by him to the Brahma Kumaris Headquarters through the years, that highlighted his beautiful and abiding relationship with the Brahma Kumaris. He is always fulfilled by the love and acceptance that he gets here. He said that his relationship with the Brahma Kumaris is also special because rising above the self and dedicating everything for society has been a form of spiritual practice for them.
The Jal Jan Campaign has come at a time when the world is viewing water scarcity as a potential threat. Water resource is limited. Water security is an important responsibility for Bharat with its huge population. If there is water, there is a tomorrow. We all need to make efforts collectively now. The Jal Jan Campaign of Brahma Kumaris will give public participation in water conservation a new strength and increase its reach and impact. He heartily congratulated the members of Brahma Kumaris for this initiative.
He further said that in Bharat we have always viewed rivers as mothers and water as God. This conservation sentiment is a part of our culture. We need to reignite this same consciousness of our ancestors in our masses once again. The spiritual organizations of Bharat like Brahma Kumaris have a huge role to play in this. For a long while, we have left environmental conservation as being very difficult. Now, this is changing. Falling water levels are now a big challenge to our nation.
In Bharat, water arrangements were always handled by women. The Brahma Kumaris sisters can play this role not only in India but all over the world. We need to raise all other environmental protection issues as well. He urged the Brahma Kumaris to encourage farmers to adopt drip irrigation technology and people to consume more coarse grains such as millet in their diet. He is sure of the success of the Jal Jan Campaign with the combined efforts of Brahma Kumaris and the Government of India. It will surely lead to a prosperous Bharat.
Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Minister of Jal Shakti, Government of India, said that it is a misfortune that the country where water was considered as God, has the highest amount of contaminated water in the world today. About 4 percent of total drinking water is in India, and we have 18 percent of the world’s population. Bharat is making the highest investment in water in the world. Namami Gange Project is the biggest water research project in the world.
Actor and Padma Shri Nana Patekar said that we must control our population if we wish to conserve our limited resources. Brahma Kumaris Organization is doing good work. He assured his cooperation in such efforts.
Maharaj Kumar Lakshyaraj of Udaipur said that only those people are remembered who do some constructive work instead of just criticizing. The 21st century will belong to Bharat. We all need to be united. The work of water conservation being done by the Brahma Kumaris and the Government of India is the work of world-making. Manoj Muntashir Shukla, Eminent Writer and Poet, said that only 0.5 percent of the total available water is fit for human consumption. Life is impossible without water. If we do not value water today, we will have to pay a huge price for it in the future
BK Mruthyunjaya, Executive Secretary of Brahma Kumaris, gave the welcome speech and said that water conservation is the need of the hour.
BK Jayanti, Additional Chief Administrator of Brahma Kumaris, said that being soul conscious makes life happy and fulfilling. Water conservation is of utmost necessity now.
BK Chandrakala from Jaipur coordinated the stage program. The Madhurvani Group presented a song dedicated to the theme of water conservation. Child artists from Jaipur gave a beautiful dance performance. More than 10,000 people attending from all over the country pledged to conserve water.
The ‘Jal Jan campaign’ will run country-wide for 8 months and the aim of the campaign is to bring awareness in millions of people by conducting 10,000 programs.

आबू रोड/राजस्थान। ब्रह्माकुमारीज और भारत सरकार के जल शक्ति मंत्रालय द्वारा जलाए जा रहे जल जन अभियान का वर्चुअली शुभारंभ करते हुए प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने कहा कि जल जन अभियान ऐसे समय में शुरू हो रहा है जब पानी की कमी को पूरे विश्व में जल संकट के रूप में देखा जा रहा है। जल संकट को पूरी दुनिया गंभीरता से समझ रही है। वॉटर सिक्योरिटी हमारे लिए सबसे बड़ा दायित्व है। जल रहेगा तभी कल रहेगा। इसके लिए हमें मिलकर आज से ही प्रयास करना होंगे। ब्रह्माकुमारीज के इस जल जन अभियान और भागीदारी के प्रयास से नई ताकत मिलेगी।
प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने कहा कि हमारे यहां कहा गया है मां आपो हिंसी अर्थात् हम जल को नष्ट न करें। उसका संरक्षण करें। यह भावना हमारे यहां वर्षों से आध्यात्म और धर्म का हिस्सा है। इसलिए हम जल को देव की संज्ञा देते हैं और प्रकृति को मां मानते हैं। आज हम भविष्य की चुनौतियों के समाधान खोज रहे हैं तो हमें अतीत की उस चेतना को भी पुन: जागृत करना होगा। हमें देशवासियों में जल संरक्षण के मूल्यों के प्रति फिर से वैसी ही आस्था पैदा करना होगी। हमें उस विकृति को भी दूर करना होगा जो जल प्रदूषण कारण बनती है। इस कार्य में ब्रह्माकुमारीज सहित अन्य आध्यात्मिक संस्थाओं की बड़ी भूमिका है। देश के प्रत्येक जिले में 75 अमृत सरोवर का निर्माण जल संरक्षण की दिशा में बड़ा कदम है। हमारे देश में जल जैसे कार्य का नेतृत्व माताओं के हाथों रहा है। इस दिशा में अब ब्रह्माकुमारी बहनों भी महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाने जा रही हैं।
नमामि गंगे मिशन बना मॉडल-
मोदी ने कहा कि बीते वर्षों में ऐसी नकारात्मक सोच बन गई थी कि हम जल संरक्षण जैसे बड़े कार्य को कर ही नहीं सकते हैं। आज न केवल गंगा साफ हो रही है बल्कि उसकी सहायक नदियां भी साफ हो रही हैं। नमामि गंगे अभियान मॉडल बनकर उभर रहा है। जल प्रदूषण की तरह गिरता भूजलस्तर भी गंभीर विषय है। ब्रह्माकुमारी बहनों से आह्नान किया कि आप ज्यादा से ज्यादा किसानों को जल संरक्षण के लिए जागरूक करें। भारत की पहल को पूरा विश्व इंटरनेशनल मिलिट्स ईयर भी मना रहा है।
दादियों के साथ के अनुभव को सांझा किया-
प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने संस्थान के साथ अपने पुराने अनुभवों को याद करते हुए कहा कि आप सबके बीच आना, सीखना, समझना हमेशा से मेरे लिए एक सुखद अनुभव रहा है। स्वर्गीय राजयोगिनी दादी जानकी से मिला आशीर्वाद मेरे लिए बहुत बड़ी पूंजी है। 2007 में दादी प्रकाशमणि के ब्रह्मलोक गमन पर मुझे माउंट आबू आने का मौका मिला था। 2011 में अहमदाबाद में फ्यूचर ऑफ पॉवर कार्यक्रम में शामिल हुआ। 2017 में संस्था का 80 वर्ष होने पर कार्यक्रम हो या पिछले साल अमृत महोत्सव के कार्यक्रम में जुडऩा मेरे लिए अभिभूत करता है। ब्रह्माकुमारीज से मेरा संबंध इसलिए भी खास रहा है कि स्व से ऊपर उठकर समाज के लिए सेवा करना आध्यात्मिक साधना का स्वरूप रहा है।
देश को 800 मिलियन क्यूबिक मीटर पानी की जरूरत-
केंद्रीय जल शक्ति मंत्री गजेंद्र सिंह शेखावत ने कहा कि हम बारिश के पानी से मात्र 300 मिलियन क्यूबिक मीटर ही रोक पा रहे हैं। वर्तमान में देश में 750-800 मिलियन क्यूबिक मीटर पानी की आवश्यकता है। पचास साल पहले हमारे देश में प्रत्येक व्यक्ति के लिए पांच हजार क्यूबिक मीटर पानी उपयोग के लिए उपलब्ध रहता था जो आज घटकर 1500 क्यूबिक मीटर रह गया है। दुनिया में जिस देश में जल को जगदीश मानने की परंपरा थी। दुर्भाग्य से आज उस देश भारत में ही सबसे ज्यादा कंटेंमनेटेडेड वाटर रिसोर्सेस हैं। दुनिया के वैज्ञानिक जो पर्यावरण पर बात करते हैं, चिंता करते हैं आज वह सबसे ज्यादा डरे और सहमे हुए हैं। दुनिया में जितना पीने योग्य पानी है उसका चार फीसदी पानी भारत में है और दुनिया की 18 फीसदी आबादी है।
हम अकेले ही अमेरिका और चीन के बराबर जमीन से पानी निकालते हैं-
केंद्रीय मंत्री शेखावत ने कहा कि जितना पानी अमेरिका और चीन जमीन से निकालते हैं उतना हम अकेले निकालते हैं। दुनिया में सबसे ज्यादा भारत 240 बिलियन क्यूबिक मीटर पानी इन्वेस्टमेंट कर रहा है। दुनिया में सबसे ज्यादा भारत पानी को लेकर इन्वेस्टमेंट कर रहा है। विश्व में हमारे नमामि गंगे भारत मिशन को दुनिया का टॉप रिस्टोरेज वाटर मिशन माना है। जर्मनी को जिस लक्ष्य को प्राप्त करने में 29 साल लगे उसे हमने सात साल में पूरा कर दिया। गंगा नहीं के किनारे बसे चार हजार गांव और लोगों को जोड़ा जा रहा है। हम उस परंपरा से आते हैं जहां हमारे लिए जिसने भी दिया उसे देवता मानने का विधान ऋषि-मुनियों ने किया है। इसलिए हमें पेड़-पौधों, नदियों की पूजा करते हैं।
संसाधन सीमित हैं हमें आबादी बढऩे से रोकना होगा-
पद्यश्री प्रसिद्ध अभिनेता नाना पाटेकर ने कहा कि मैं आज गांव में रहता हूं लेकिन जब किसी काम से शहर जाना होता है तो मेरा दम घुटने लगता है। हमें आबादी बढऩे से रोकना होगा, क्योंकि हमारे पास संसाधन सीमित हैं। पानी के बिना जीवन अधूरा है। जो चीज हमारे पास नहीं है उसकी कीमत नहीं है। वेंटीलेटर पर दो दिन रहो तो हम सात लाख का बिल भर देते हैं लेकिन हवा, पानी जो हमें भगवान ने फ्री में दिया है उसकी हम वैल्यु नहीं कर रहे हैं। भगवान जैसे लोग मुझे जिंदगी में मिले हैं जिनके संपर्क में आने से हमारे पास कई बदलाव आ गए। उन्होंने अपने जीवन का अनुभव बताते हुए कहा कि मैं जिंदगीभर गांव का ही व्यक्ति रहा और मुझे इसी में ही सुकून मिलता है। ब्रह्माकुमारीज संस्थान के लिए कहा कि आप हमें अपना समझिए। संस्थान बहुत ही अच्छा कार्य कर रही है। मेरा प्रयास रहेगा कि अपने स्तर पर जो कुछ भी बन पड़ेगा मैं जल संरक्षण की दिशा में कार्य करुंगा। पानी आठ साल पूर्व हमने नाम फाउंडेशन के नाम से जल संरक्षण की दिशा में काम शुरू किया था। इस दौरान पाटेकर द्वारा जल संरक्षण की दिशा में किए गए प्रयासों की वीडियो फिल्म भी दिखाई गई।
हम सभी को एक होने की जरूरत है-
उदयपुर से आए मेवाड़ के महाराज कुमार लक्ष्यराज सिंह आलोचना करने वालों के कभी भी स्मारक नहीं बने। स्मारक उनके बने हैं जिन्होंने कुछ काम किया है। हमारे पूर्वजों ने उस समय जल संरक्षण के लिए कई उपाय किए। 21वीं शताब्दी हिंदुस्तान की होगी। उसका रास्ता और कहीं से नहीं इसी सोच से गुजरता है। ब्रह्माकुमारीज और जलशक्ति मंत्रालय जो काम कर रहा है वह दुनिया को बनाने का काम है। यदि हमें विश्व पर राज करना है तो सभी को फिर से एक होने की जरूरत है। मैं जीवनभर जल संरक्षण के इस कार्य में सदा तत्पर रहूंगा।
संसार में केवल 0.5 फीसदी पानी ही उपयोग योग्य है-
मुंबई से आए प्रसिद्ध कवि व लेखकर मनोज मुंतशिर शुक्ला ने कहा कि हम बचपन से सुनते आए हैं कि जीवन के लिए कपड़ा, रोटी और मकान जरूरी है लेकिन वर्तमान में इसमें एक शब्द और जोडऩे की जरूरत है, वह है पानी। पानी के बिना जीवन अधूरा है। यदि आप जरूरत से ज्यादा पानी का उपयोग कर रहे हैं तो यकीन मानिए आप किसी के हिस्से के पानी को बहा रहे हैं। पूरे संसार को पेयजल योग्य मात्र 0.5 फीसदी पानी ही उपलब्ध है। हमने आज इसकी कीमत नहीं समझी तो बड़ा मूल्य चुकाना पड़ेगा। हमें फौजी बन पानी बचाने के लिए लडऩा होगा। जब एक तरफ पानी खत्म होगा तो जिंदगानी खत्म होना तय है।
इन्होंने भी व्यक्त किए विचार-
– संस्थान के कार्यकारी सचिव बीके डॉ. मृत्युंजय भाई ने स्वागत भाषण देते हुए कहा कि जल संरक्षण समय की जरूरत है। हम सभी मिलकर एक दिन जरूर भारत को विश्व गुरु बनाएंगे।
– संस्थान की अतिरिक्त मुख्य प्रशासिका राजयोगिनी बीके जयंती दीदी ने कहा कि आत्मिक स्वरूप की स्मृति से जीवन में सुख-शांति, पवित्रता, आनंद का समावेश होता है। आज हमें अपनी मनोवृत्तियों को सकारात्मक बनाने के साथ जल बचाना समय की जरूरत है। संस्थान की मुख्य प्रशासिका राजयोगिनी दादी रतनमोहिनी भी विशेष रूप से मौजूद रहीं।
प्रदेशभर से पहुंचे दस हजार से अधिक लोगों ने ली शपथ-
अभियान के शुभारंभ पर प्रधानमंत्री मोदी सहित अन्य अतिथियों के सामने राजस्थान के प्रदेशभर से पहुंचे दस हजार से अधिक लोगों ने जल संरक्षण की शपथ ली। साथ ही अन्य लोगों को भी इसे लेकर जागरूक करने का संकल्प किया। मंच संचालन जयपुर की वरिष्ठ राजयोग शिक्षिका बीके चंद्रकला ने किया।
क्या है जल-जन अभियान-
मनुष्य और मनुष्यता को बचाने के लिए भारत सरकार के जल शक्ति मंत्रालय और ब्रह्माकुमारीज संस्था के द्वारा संयुक्त रूप से संचालित जल-जन अभियान, जल संरक्षण की दिशा में एक सकारात्मक पहल है। लोगों में जल एवं प्रकृति के संरक्षण के प्रति सामूहिक चेतना का निर्माण करके ही जल संरक्षण के लक्ष्य को प्राप्त किया जा सकता है। इसी लक्ष्य को लेकर इस अभियान की योजना बनाई गई है।
