Governor of West Bengal Praises Brahma Kumaris, Launches Y20 Summit in Kolkata

Kolkata ( West Bengal ): The Launching of Y20 Summit under the theme “Health, Well-being & Sports” was organized by Brahma Kumaris, Kolkata in collaboration with Indian Museum, Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India at Asutosh Birth Centenary Auditorium, Indian Museum, Kolkata.

The program was inaugurated by H.E CV Ananda Bose, Hon’ble Governor of West Bengal.

BK Supriya from Shantivan spoke on how our thoughts are energy which radiate into the environment and create our mental and emotional Health. She also emphasized on practice of daily meditation and affirmations for positive thinking.

Dola Banerjee, Renowned Indian Archer & Arjuna Awardee spoke on the importance of healthy and positive mindset for excelling both in sports and in life. She said young people need to inculcate sporting habits in their daily life to maintain physical and mental fitness.

BK Kanan, Incharge of Brahma Kumaris Eastern Zone HQs emphasized on the importance of meditation for healthy and happy life. She told that Rajyoga Meditation taught by Brahma Kumaris is a simple tool to establish a link between the self and the Supreme Being and this gives one the stability in current uncertain times.

Hon’ble Governor, DR. C.V Ananda Bose said that India has a chance to become a superpower but this journey to glory begins today, begins now. And it begins with committing towards a healthy mind, stronger resilience and better will power. He also praised Brahma Kumaris and Indian Museum for taking this initiative to bring health and well-being in focus.

Also present was Arijit Dutta Choudhury, Director of Indian Museum, Kolkata who welcomed the audience to enjoy this once in a lifetime opportunity

Other highlights of the program were the display of Exhibition / Game, Poster Competition Display on the theme ‘Healthy Mindset and Well-being’, Cultural Performances and Meditation Experience.

A special panel discussion was also held for the young audience in which Guests,  Dola Banerjee, Indian Archer, Virendra, Former DGP and currently Chief Information Commissioner, Govt. of West Bengal and Satish Tewary, IAS, Chairperson West Bengal State Food Commission, Dr. Sayan Bhattacharya, Education Officer, Indian Museum spoke on the need for yoga and meditation in today’s life.

About 450 people attended the program.
