Felicitation Ceremony of Mayor and Councillors in Raipur

Addressing the audience as Chief Guest, Mayor Mr. Ejaz Dhebar spoke on the subject “My Priorities to Make My City Clean and Beautiful” : Cleanliness must begin from our homes and lanes. We demand for our rights but forget our basic duties. The day we remember our primary duties, the same day, the city will become clean and beautiful on its own. He said that he was very fond of cleanliness for which he received an Award when he was the Ward Councillor. Recollecting the memories he said, “There was a temple of Hanuman in my Ward which was surrounded by filth and dirt. Some suggested to penalize the people who are throwing waste around the temple. Instead, we started offering rose flowers to them. Slowly, people felt ashamed and stopped disposal of waste in that area. Today it has become the cleanest colony.”

On this occasion, as the Mayor he insisted all the new Councillors to first of all survey their Wards in the morning to check Cleanliness. It will help them to maintain their areas as clean as possible. He said that a telephone number is allotted for cleanliness. Within two hours of any complaint, it is our promise to get the cleaning done. At present we are not yet able to do so, but very soon it will be implemented.

BK Kamala, Centre in Charge, said, “Along with external neatness, the inner cleanliness is also needed. To keep the city clean, mental cleaning is to be done first. Hatredness, jealousy, malice, aversion, etc., spoil the mind and pollute the atmosphere around. Bringing awareness in the public to keep the city clean is necessary.”  She then conducted Rajayoga Meditation for the councillors.

BK Deeksha said, “Whenever we are criticizing others, we are spreading negativity all around the environment. It is not good for health. We ourselves have to take steps towards cleanliness.” She said that irrespective of whether others are doing or not, we must keep attention on the matters of cleanliness.

The function began with a beautiful welcome dance performance by child artists, followed by a melodious rendering of an enchanting welcome song.

स्वच्छता की शुरूआत अपने घर और गलियों से करनी होगी… महापौर
रायपुर: महापौर एजाज ढेबर ने कहा कि स्वच्छता की शुरूआत अपने घर और गलियों से करनी होगी। हम लोग अधिकारों की मांग करते हैं किन्तु अपने कर्तव्य को भूल जाते हैं। जिस दिन कर्तव्य को याद रखना शुरू कर देंगे, उस दिन शहर स्वत: ही स्वच्छ और सुन्दर बन जाएगा।
श्री एजाज ढेबर आज प्रजापिता ब्रह्माकुमारी ईश्वरीय विश्व विद्यालय के राजनीतिक सेवा प्रभाग द्वारा विधानसभा रोड पर स्थित शान्ति सरोवर में नवनिर्वाचित महापौर एवं पार्षदों के लिए आयोजित सम्मान समारोह में बोल रहे थे। विषय था- शहर को स्वच्छ और सुन्दर बनाने में मेरी प्राथमिकताएं।
उन्होंने कहा कि स्वच्छता पर काम करना उन्हें बेहद पसन्द है। उन्होंने पार्षद के रूप में मिले स्वच्छता अवार्ड को याद करते हुए बतलाया कि उनके वार्ड में एक हनुमान नगर था जहाँ पर काफी गन्दगी पसरी रहती थी। कुछ लोगों ने सुझाव दिया कि कचरा फेकने वालों पर फाईन लगा देते हैं किन्तु हमने कचरा फेकने वालों को गुलाब का फूल देना शुरू कर दिया। धीरे-धीरे शर्म के मारे लोगों ने कचरा फेंकना बन्द कर दिया। आज वह सबसे साफ मोहल्ला बन चुका है।
महापौर ने सभी पार्षदों से आग्रह किया कि सवेरे सबसे पहले वार्ड का एक चक्कर लगाकर सफाई कार्य देख लिया करें। इससे उनके वार्ड को साफ रखने में सहयोग मिल जाएगा। उन्होंने बतलाया कि शहर में स्वच्छता के लिए एक टेलीफोन नं. चालू किया है। टेलीफोन आते ही दो घण्टे में सफाई का हमारा वायदा है। अभी नहीं कर पा रहे हैं परन्तु शीघ्र ही हम उसे ठीक कर लेंगे।

बाहरी स्वच्छता के साथ ही आन्तरिक स्वच्छता भी जरूरी…
क्षेत्रीय निदेशिका ब्रह्माकुमारी कमला दीदी ने कहा कि शहर को साफ रखने के लिए सबसे पहले मन की स्वच्छता जरूरी है। मन में उत्पन्न घृणा, नफरत, ईष्र्या, द्वेष आदि विचार मानसिक प्रदूषण फैलाते हैं। शहर को साफ रखने के लिए लोगों में जन जागृति लाने की जरूरत है। उन्होंने बाद में पार्षदों को राजयोग मेडिटेशन की अनुभूति भी कराई।

जगह जगह स्वच्छता के स्लोगन्स लगाकर लोगों को जागरूक करना होगा…
राजयोग शिक्षिका ब्रह्माकुमारी दीक्षा दीदी ने कहा कि जब हम लोगों की आलोचना करते हैं तो वायुमण्डल में नकारात्मकता फैलती है। यह स्वास्थ्य के लिए ठीक नहीं है। स्वच्छता के लिए स्वयं पहल करनी होगी। कोई करे न करें हम सफाई पर ध्यान दें।
इस दौरान बाल कलाकार कु. मनिषा, तमन्ना, देवोनीता और सम्पदा द्वारा बहुत ही सुन्दर स्वागत नृत्य प्रस्तुत किया गया तथा कुमारी शारदा नाथ ने सुमधुर स्वागत गीत गाकर सभी को भाव विभोर कर दिया।
