‘End Racism, Build Peace’ – Interfaith Peace Conference in Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City ( USA ): In observance of the International Day of Peace,  Brahma Kumaris center Oklahoma City, USA organized an Interfaith Peace Conference. The theme of the conference was based on the theme chosen by the United Nations for the day- “End Racism- Build Peace”.

Several local leaders from various religious backgrounds and those who are doing similar work in the state were speakers at the conference. The event opened up with a beautiful inaugural video message by BK Sister Mohini, Additional Chief of Brahma Kumaris from New York. She said that “as wars are created in the minds of people, peace also should be created in the minds first.” Her message built the awareness that we all are spiritual beings and one big spiritual family and like a tree with all its branches and we all connect to one Seed – our one common spiritual parent.

Among the 11 speakers was BK Bindu, Center Coordinator, Oklahoma City. The essence of her message was about how peacelesness in the world has sprouted out of ignorance of one’s true self and by identifying oneself with the limited consciousness of the body and everything it relates to, and how spiritual awareness reconnects us with our innate virtues, our one common spiritual Parent and helps unite us with the common thread of spiritual brotherhood.
