Sitamarhi ( Bihar ): Drug Free India Campaign ( (Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, NMBA), a joint program of Medical Wing of Brahma Kumaris and Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India was inaugurated with lighting of lamp at Utsav Palace in the city.
Dr Banarsi Lal Shah, Secretary, Medical Wing from Mt. Abu said that under the initiative of Drug Free India Campaign an MOU has been signed between the two agencies under which a target has been set to make 10 crore people drug free by running a nationwide campaign where students from schools, colleges and universities and social organizations will be made aware through seminars and motivational workshops.
Courageous work done in Bihar:
Dr Sachin Parab, Joint Secretary, Medical Wing said that drug free India campaign has now become a mass movement and it is spreading day by day in every nook and corner of the country. Praising the Bihar Government, he said that prohibition is a courageous step and by implementing it, they have done a great service. Tobacco is a bigger enemy than the neighbouring country due to which 3700 people die every 24 hours. Drug addiction is a social disease and threat to the country.
Freedom from Drug Addiction Possible through Spiritual Awakening:
BK Rajiv Dhawan from Odisha said that Brahma Kumaris organization has been running a de-addiction campaign for many years and is completely dedicated to help people lead drug free lives. Drug de-addiction is possible only through introspection, self-awareness and spiritual awakening, he said.
Most Pressing Problem:
Abhijit Sarkar, Commandant, 20th Battalion SSB, said that drug abuse is the most pressing problem of the modern society. It has destroyed the creative power of millions of youth.
Sh. Pramod Kumar Pandey, Municipal Commissioner, said that to make India the world leader, a drug free society will have to be created in which Brahma Kumaris organization can play an important role.
Several persons from the medical fraternity from the city hospitals, members of the Chamber of Commerce, political figures and BK brothers and sisters attended the function.

प्रजापिता ब्रह्माकुमारी ईश्वरीय विश्वविद्यालय के मेडिकल विंग एवं भारत सरकार के सामाजिक न्याय व अधिकारिता विभाग के संयुक्त कार्यक्रम नशा मुक्त भारत अभियान के अंतर्गत मंगलवार को नगर स्थित उत्सव पैलेस में दीप जलाकर शुभारंभ किया।कार्यक्रम में ब्रह्मा कुमारी मुख्यालय माउंट आबू के मेडिकल विंग के सचिव डॉ० बनारसी लाल शाह ने कहा कि भारत सरकार के सामाजिक न्याय एवं अधिकारिता विभाग व ब्रह्मा कुमारी संस्था ने नशा मुक्त भारत की पहल की है।इसके लिए दोनों के बीच एम ओ यू हुआ है।जिसके तहत देश भर में राष्ट्रव्यापी अभियान चलाकर दस करोड़ लोगों को नशा मुक्त करने का लक्ष्य रखा गया है।इसके तहत स्कूल से लेकर कॉलेज,विश्वविद्यालय के छात्रों व सामाजिक संस्थाओं में लोगों को नशे से होने वाले दुष्परिणाम के बारे में सेमिनार,मोटिवेशन वर्कशॉप के जरिये जागरूक किया जायेगा।
बिहार ने हिम्मत का काम किया —-
संस्था मेडिकल विंग के सह सचिव डॉ० सचिन परब ने कहा कि नशा मुक्त अभियान अब एक जन आंदोलन बन गया है और यह दिन ब दिन देश के कोने कोने में फैल रहा है।उन्होंने बिहार सरकार की तारीफ करते हुए कहा कि नशा बंदी एक साहसिक कदम है।उसे लागू करके हिम्मत का काम किया है।उन्होंने कहा कि पड़ोसी मुल्क से ज्यादा दुश्मन तम्बाकू है।24 घन्टे में 3700 लोग तम्बाकू से मर रहे हैं।नशा एक सामाजिक बीमारी है।यह देश के लिए खतरा है।
आध्यात्मिक जागृति से नशा मुक्ति सम्भव —
उड़ीसा के बीके राजीव धवन ने कहा कि ब्रह्मा कुमारी संस्था कई वर्षों से नशा मुक्ति अभियान चला रही है।नशा मुक्त जीवन जीने में सहायता करने के लिए संस्था पूरी तरह से समर्पित है।नशा मुक्ति केवल आत्म निरीक्षण,आत्म जागरूकता व आध्यात्मिक जागृति से ही सम्भव हो सकती है।
सबसे ज्वलन्त समस्या —
एसएसबी 20 वीं बटालियन के कमांडेंट अभिजीत सरकार ने कहा कि नशाखोरी आधुनिक समाज की सबसे ज्वलन्त समस्याओं में से एक है।इसने लाखों युवाओं की रचनात्मक शक्तियों को नष्ट कर दिया है।
कार्यक्रम को पटना के बीके संजय कुमार,सदर एसडीओ प्रशांत कुमार,प्रभारी सीएस व एन सी डी ओ सदर अस्पताल डॉ सुनील कुमार सिन्हा, जिला डीएमओ डॉ रविन्द्र यादव,जीविका के जिला प्रोजेक्ट मैनेजर उमा शंकर भगत,नगर आयुक्त प्रमोद कुमार पांडे ने कहा कि भारत को विश्व का सर्वोच्च नेता बनाने के लिए नशा मुक्त समाज बनाना होगा।जिसमें ब्रह्मा कुमारी संस्था महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभा सकती है। कार्यक्रम का संचालन मुजफ्फरपुर के डॉ फणीन्द्र फलक व धन्यवाद ज्ञापन माउंट आबू के बीके प्रेम भाई ने की।
कार्यक्रम में चेम्बर ऑफ कॉमर्स के अध्यक्ष मदन प्रसाद,वार्ड पार्षद अमृतेश मिश्रा, राम बाबू, ईo राजकिशोर नारायण यादव,आमोद भाई भाजपा युवा नेता शुवेन्दु सौरभ सहित दर्जनों भाई बहन मौजूद थे।
