Birgunj( Nepal ): On the occasion of World No Tobacco Day, the Brahma Kumaris of Birgunj in Nepal, held a mass awareness and discussion program on Tobacco Deaddiction. Mohammad Lal Babu Raut, Former Chief Minister and Current member of Provincial Assembly of Madhesh Province, was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Rajyogini BK Ravina presided over this event.
Lal Babu Raut, Chief Guest, while inaugurating this program said that in the absence of right guidance and influence of bad company, youth is ruining its life with tobacco and other drug addictions. The Brahma Kumaris Organization is working for drug deaddiction all over the world by holding mass awareness programs and imparting spiritual knowledge. This initiative is highly appreciable.
Nitesh Kumar, Consul General of India in Nepal and Special Guest, said that student life and youth is a very sensitive and important time. The values formed during this time stay throughout life. He urged the youth to learn Rajyoga Meditation and spiritual principles taught by the Brahma Kumaris. It will help them in choosing the right path and contribute to nation building.
BK Dr. Sagar gave a presentation on drug deaddiction, which was informative and inspiring. A picture exhibition was also shown by BK Sabita and BK Trupti, to create awareness on this subject.
Around 150 students and teachers of Gyanda Academy participated and benefitted from this program. Raju Shreshtha, SP Piluwa, BK Gunraj, Rajyoga Teacher, Rajendra Koirala, Head of Gyanda Academy, Madhu Rana, Senior Social Worker, Gyasuddin Thakurai, Head of Community Service Center in Chhapkaiya, BK Gowardhan, Coordinator of Youth Wing of Brahma Kumaris in Birgunj, were the important people present on this occasion.
