“Consciousness and Climate Change: Clean Mind, Green Earth” session in Japan

Tokyo ( Japan ): BK Sister Jayanti conducted a session on “Consciousness and Climate Change: Clean Mind, Green Earth” at Meguro Persimmon Hall in Tokyo, Japan, in which 600 people participated.

The opening act of a poetry reading by six teenagers, in English and Japanese, kick-started the event. They were inspired by Sis Greta, 16-year-old activist for the environment of the Earth, one of the candidates for the Novel Peace Prize.

A talk by Mariko Kawaguchi, consultant for governments and companies, investor in the field of global warming, climate change, shared about the environmental situation in Japan, Government, Company, Investor. Big changes have been happening for them.

A talk by BK Hidetake Enomoto, Professor of Shizenkan Graduate School, founder of Seven Generations, Transition Japan, and the CTI Japan Coaching School, talked about how he lived and what he received through the experience of establishing these companies. He spoke on how we can live well for the self and for others.

Sr. Jayanti’s talk addressed how we consider the self and others. We consider the self as consciousness, not as the body.  She described the experience of meditation, and explained the importance of awareness and vision. When we share the same vision, we create a good world. When we experience inner peace and happiness, we create that reality outside.

A panel discussion with BK Sister Jayanti and two guests included topics such as changing awareness, how to sustain ourselves, and activities for the environment of the Earth.

For this event, the Brahma Kumaris in Japan worked together with two NPO organizations as well as professional activists, workshop organizers, copywriters and designers.
