Brahma Kumaris Organize Health Camps in Flood-Affected Assam

Guwahati ( Assam ): The Global Hospital and Research Center, Mount Abu, and the Brahma Kumaris, Guwahati jointly organized a day-long Health Camp in the flood-affected Morigaon District of Assam.

Due to incessant rains over the past few days, almost all districts of Lower Assam have been affected by flood, and many districts are still reeling under floodwaters. The medical camp was organised with the intent to address issues pertaining to waterborne diseases and epidemic threat.

A team of doctors comprising Dr. BK Devendra, Dr. BK Tamuli, Dr. BK Priti Kakati, Dr. BK Abhishek, Dr. BK Tilan Bora and Brahma Kumari sisters to assist them visited the far-flung areas covered by flood water through boat, etc., and provided much-needed succour to the victims. Apart from free consultancy, the camp provided free medicines and counselling to around 500 people.

Villages such as Bangalpara, Khokatiputa, Lotimar, Noubordowa of Morigaon District were selected for setting up the camp. Currently, such medical camps are being organised at a few other flood-affected locations, too. Earlier, flood relief camps were also organized in the area by the Brahma Kumaris, exhibiting thereby the true spirit of selfless service to the society.
