Brahma Kumaris Join Member of Parliament and High Sheriff for Festival of Lights Celebration in Aylesbury

Aylesbury, England ( UK ): Brahma Kumaris were invited to contribute to the annual Diwali celebration at the Discover Bucks Museum in the historic old town area of Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire. The invitation came about after some members of the Festival of Lights committee experienced Glimpse of the Goddesses tableau and stand at Diwali on Trafalgar Square last month.  Over the afternoon some 200 people visited our space and took part in our activities.  A whole team from Global Co-operation House and also the local area supported in creating a really beautiful space and also the pure vibrations that made it so special.

Brahma Kumaris were given a whole room for the activities, which included:

●    Raja Yoga meditation space – live meditation commentaries every half hour

●    Tree of Life – Write good wishes on a post-it note and stick on the tree

●    Emergency Optimist – Find a positive solution through the appropriate meditation ‘prescription’

●    Glimpse of the Goddesses – Experience  the divinity within

●    Shakti wheel: Spin and invoke divine powers and virtues

Outside there was a small stage offering music and dance items, such as bamboo flute & sitar, dhol drummers and more. European Director of Brahma Kumaris BK Sister Sudesh joined a Diya(Lamp )lighting ceremony with the High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire, George Anson, the Member of Parliament for Aylesbury Rob Butler, the Mayor of Aylesbury Councillor Anders Christenson and the Director of the Discover Bucks Museum Sue Shave.

BK Sister Sudesh brought a special wave of happiness and enthusiasm to the gathering in her speech, addressing everyone as ‘living lights – living lights of truth, living lights of hope, living lights of love’ and asking them to say to themselves: ‘I am a true and peaceful living light’.

After the ceremony, BK Sister Sudesh then gave an impromptu session in the Raja Yoga meditation space. Signaling to the beautiful tableau of the Goddesses right next to the space, BK Sudesh spoke about how we can all become embodiments of true wealth – the wealth of wisdom, wealth of peace, wealth of good wishes, wealth of purity, wealth of dignity, the wealth of truth. She ended by explaining how ‘the true meaning of Diwali is harmony’.
