Mathura ( Uttar Pradesh ): The Brahma Kumaris of Mathura, put a ‘Self Reliant Farmer’ stall at Deendayal Dham Farmers Fair in the area. This fair was inaugurated by Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and the closing ceremony was attended by Anandiben Patel, Honorable Governor of UP.
At this stall, awareness and information about Organic Yogic Farming was given to thousands of farmers through banners, posters and pamphlets. Farmers were inspired to stop using pesticides and fertilizers and switch to sustainable Organic Yogic Farming.
This Self Reliant Farmers stall was put by Rural Development Wing of RERF, in collaboration with Brahma Kumaris.
BK Krishna, Incharge of Brahma Kumaris in Refinery Nagar, said that in order to ensure more production, we have started using more chemical fertilizers and pesticides, which has made food poisonous. This has given rise to diseases like cancer. By adopting Yogic Farming practices, we can not only increase production, but also make our food nutritious. Farmers were also apprised of Organic Yogic Farming techniques by the BK team.
Ashok Tentiwal, Head of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Smriti Mahotsav Samiti, Kamal Kaushik, Officer of this Samiti, Thakur Mahipal Singh, Member of Ayojak Mandal, Ramgopal Kaka, National Head of Mission Modi, Local MLA and prominent farmer leaders attended this event. The guests visited the stall and appreciated the efforts being made by the Brahma Kumaris for promoting Organic Yogic Farming.
