Brahma Kumaris Celebrate Raksha Bandhan with President of Nepal and Ministers

Kathmandu ( Nepal): The Brahma Kumaris of the Thamel service center in Nepal celebrated the Raksha Bandhan festival with great aplomb.  The Brahma Kumaris team tied rakhi and applied the ‘Tilak’ of Soul Consciousness on the forehead of Bidhya Devi Bhandari, Honorable President of Nepal, at her official residence ‘Sheetal Niwas’. The President expressed her respect for Dadi Ratanmohini, Chief of Brahma Kumaris. She also praised the services of Brahma Kumaris in Nepal under BK Raj. She expressed her good wishes and hoped that the Organization keeps moving forward promoting peace and brotherhood amongst people.

The Brahma Kumaris team also tied rakhi on the wrist of Agni Prasad Sapkota, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Parliament of Nepal.  He said that we can build a truly civilized society with the efforts of eradicating violence and evil tendencies in men, work being done by the Brahma Kumaris.  He appreciated the work of value education in schools and colleges started by the Brahma Kumaris.

The Brahma Kumaris group also tied rakhis on the wrists of 12 ministers of the Nepalese Government.  These included Finance Minister Janardhan Sharma, Information and Communications Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, Education and Scientific Technology Minister Devendra Pandel, Forest and Environment Minister Pradeep Yadav, and Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Gobind Baudi. These dignitaries expressed best wishes for the public welfare activities being done by the Brahma Kumaris.

Brahma Kumaris of other service centers in Kathmandu also offered rakhis to ministers, former ministers, judges, social workers, army and paramilitary personnel and in hospitals, schools, jails and old age homes.

Evening programs were held for members of the Brahma Kumaris fraternity,  where rakhis were tied and ‘Prasad,’ or consecrated food offering to the Divine,  was offered to all.

Rakhis were sent via envelopes to members of the Parliament, cabinet ministers, secretariat, bureaucrats, diplomats, army and police personnel,  the UN Office and many religious personalities. Around 10,000 rakhis were sent this way, showering Godly love on people in different fields.

Public programs were held on this occasion by the Brahma Kumaris of Narayangarh, Hathoda, Birgunj, Janakpur, Rajbiraj, Viratnagar and Dharan. These celebrations were widely covered by TV channels, radio, and print media of Nepal.
