Kathmandu ( Nepal ): Brahma Kumaris Nepal celebrated the Rakhi festival with much fanfare, zeal and enthusiasm. On the occasion, the service of tying Rakhi to different respected leaders of the society was done by Brahma Kumari Raj Didi, Director of Brahma Kumaris Nepal.
Honorable President of Nepal Mrs. Bidhya Devi Bhandari; Honorable Prime Minister of Nepal Mr. KP Sharma Oli; Mr. Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Speaker of the House of Representatives; Police General Inspector Mr. Sarbendra Khanal; Ambassador of India to Nepal Mr. Manjeev Singh Puri; and Deputy Chief of Mission Dr. Ajaya Kumar were tied rakhi respectively at their residences by BK Raj.
On the occasion they also lauded the work done by the Brahma Kumaris in the field of purity, peace, happiness and spreading the atmosphere of good wishes and harmony.
Another group led by Brahma Kumari Kiran behn went to the residences of former President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population Mr. Upendra Yadav to do the service of tying rakhi. They also went to the Ministers’ quarters and tied Rakhi to different ministers such as the Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Pradeep Kumar Gyawali; the Minister for Education, Science & Technology Mr. Giriraj Mani Pokheral; the Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transportation Mr. Raghubir Mahaseth; the Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security Mr. Gokarna Bista; the Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Mr. Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal; the Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Mr. Lal Babu Pandit, and the Minister for Finance Mr. Yuba Raj Khatiwada. Another group tied Rakhi to the Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Mr. Ishwor Pokherel and various other dignitaries.
Similarly, every BK center observed the Rakhi festival and tied Rakhi to local dignitaries around their centers. BK Sisters went to different Police and Army cantonments, different hospitals, senior centers, anti-drug centers, prisons, etc., and performed the service of tying Rakhi. The Narayagarh sub zone, the Birgunj sub zone, the Janakpur sub zone, and the Biratangar sub zone also tied Rakhi to different Province Heads, Chief Ministers, Provincial Ministers, parliamentarians and local dignitaries.
Thousands of BKs, VVIPs, and VIPs visited the Thamel Center and had the Rakhi tied personally by the hand of Raj didi. Tens of thousands of Rakhis enclosed with printed spiritual message were dispatched to different government institutions, police units, army units, banks, political parties, Ambassadors of the Resident Embassy in Nepal, etc. In this way the Rakhi festival became an occasion to spread the message to thousands of people.
