Brahma Kumaris honored with Doctorate Degree from Hon. President of India

Cuttack ( Odisha ) : On the occasion of 12th Convocation of Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University BK Dr. Kamlesh, Director Cuttack Subzone was awarded with Doctorate Degree by Honorable President of India Droupadi Murmu for her Social service. She was born on January 17, 1940 in Firozabad, ‘Uttar Pradesh, to Prayagdas Gupta and Kalabati Gupta, and dedicated her fife to spreading spiritualism and social service.

At the age of 27, she joined Brahma Kumaris and realized the importance of Rajyoga. In 1973, she came to Odisha and established the first Brahma Kumaris Centre in Cuttack. With a strong desire to promote spiritual messages, she tirelessly worked towards establishing Brahma Kumaris centres at various locations throughout the state. Today, her efforts have resulted in the centres having 1,50,000 Brahma Kumars and Kumaris, along with 1,050 highly educated surrendered sisters in Odisha.

Aside from her spiritual pursuits, she have been actively involved in social activities such as the Bharat Ekta Yuba Yatra, Saswat Yogi Agricultural Awareness Campaign, Peace March, organization of blood donation and health check-up camps, and helping flood and cyclone affected people. She have also organized the Viswa Nav Nirman spiritual congregation, among other activities. Her tireless work has been recognized by many organizations such as Patanjali Yoga Samiti, Indian Medical Association, Central Red Cross Brood Bank and Tapovan, who felicitated her for her contributions.

It is with great honour that Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University bestows upon BK Dr. Kamlesh, the Degree of Doctor of Literature (Honoris Causa) in recognition of her invaluable contributions to the field of spiritualism and social service.
