Houston, Texas ( USA ) : Brahma Kumaris were invited to conduct an invocation for the ground-breaking ceremony of the Eternal Gandhi Museum Houston, which is the first Mahatma Gandhi museum in the Americas.
BK Dr. Hansa gave the introduction of the Supreme Soul, the Light of Truth. Dr. Hansa highlighted Gandhiji’s firm belief that discrimination, prejudice, caste systems, and other forms of human suppression are born out of arrogance of the body, and that respect and love for the soul within the body creates unity and brotherhood.
The Emcee (stage secretary) told the audience that it is a little known fact that Dr. Hansa put a garland around Mahatma Gandhiji’s neck when she was a little girl !
Present at the ground-breaking ceremony were US Congressman Al Green, Consulate General of India Aseem Mahajan, Mayor of Houston Sylvester Turner, Fort Bend County Judge KP George, as well as multi-faith leaders.
