Aska ( Odisha ): Local centre of Brahma Kumaris Shanti Shakti Bhawan observed Rashtriya Kisan Divas ( National Farmer’s Day ). Addressing the occasion BK Pravati informed that on behalf of Agriculture and Rural Development Wing of Brahma Kumaris, Mt Abu National Farmers’ Day is observed by all the centres of Brahma Kumaris to provide information about Organic yogic farming to all brothers and sisters of farming community and to honor them for their dedication and sacrifice.
She mentioned that today our farmer is in peril owing to natural disasters and cost effective farming methods. Use of pesticides, chemical fertilizers, modern agriculture technology have spoiled our environment, turned our farmers bankrupt. Moreover, it is an irony that in an agricultural economy like ours more than four lakh farmers have committed suicide in the last two decades. But thanks to the research done by Agriculture and Rural development wing of Brahma Kumaris. By means of Rajyoga and successful implementation of Organic farming methods more than two thousand farmers across the country have achieved success by yielding rich harvest without chemical fertilizers thereby doing good to themselves and to the environment as well.
Speaking to farmers Chief Guest Basant Kumar Deo Agriculture Administrative Officer explained how to increase harvest following sustainable methods of farming along with the schemes introduced by government from time to time. Surabhi outlets had organized an exhibition at Shanti Shakti Bhawan complex in which modern Agricultural gazets were displayed and demonstrated for the benefit of the participants.
All the farmers read out the oath after BK Sugyani, with a promise that they would implement Organic Yogic Farming in their fields.
At the end of the program successful florist of Ganjam district BK Laxmi Narayan who has begged the best florist award by the district administration recently by successful implementation of Mt. Abu’s model of organic yogic farming was also honored on this occasion.
