Addiction-Free Life : ‘My Bharat, Intoxication-Free Bharat’ Campaign in Rourkela

Rourkela ( Odisha ): The Brahma Kumaris of Koel Nagar in Rourkela held the 373rd and 374th chain of programs under the ‘My Bharat, Intoxication-Free Bharat‘ Campaign.  These programs were held at St. Paul’s School,  Hamirpur, Rourkela and Municipal College,  Rourkela,  while following all covid-related restrictions. Information for the general public regarding drug de-addiction was given via a projector show on this occasion.  About 400 students of 10+1 and 10+2 standard at both these educational institutions attended these programs.

BK Rajiv said that drug addiction is mental weakness which can be easily cured by strengthening our inner power. Through meditation,  we can not only escape drug addiction,  but also contribute constructively in the society.  A discourse on self respect, a short Rajayoga session with meditation commentary, and a pledge to stay away from substance abuse was also taken.

Father Joseph Sarpirasadam, Principal of St. Paul’s School, and Paresh Chander Pradhan, Principal of Municipal College,  Rourkela,  made appreciable contributions in making this program successful.

Swaroop Panigrahi, Chief General Manager,  Rourkela Steel Plant Super Speciality Hospital,  was the Chief Guest at the program in St. Paul’s School.  He appreciated this Campaign being run by the Brahma Kumaris, and said that this should be taken to all schools.  Students must learn to discriminate between right and wrong and build a supreme life for themselves.  Rajayoga taught by Brahma Kumaris is very helpful in this direction.

BK Rajiv and BK Umesh coordinated this program.
