A Spiritual “Tour” of 12 Jyotirling and Raja Yoga Exhibition at GCH London

A Spiritual “Tour” of Ancient India’s renowned 12 Jyotirling, a Raja Yoga Exhibition, and Meditation Tasters on the occasion of the Maha Shiv Ratri  Festival was hosted by the Brahma Kumaris in Global Cooperation House, London.

London ( UK ): More than 620 people came through the doors of Diamond House at Global Cooperation House in London to experience a “Spiritual Tour” where everyone was handed a reflective journal “my special moments with God” before embarking on the journey. Many more friends and contacts continued to visit for the next two days.

The spiritual tour started with an exquisite exhibition and installation replicating the 12 renowned temples in India that house the Jyotirling. The exhibition displayed at Leicester’s Harmony House for a week before being brought to London by BK sisters and brothers, with project lead BK Sister Sukanti.

The Conference Hall was transformed into 12 exhibits, replicating the 12 Shiva temples, each with a lit alcove displaying the Jyotirling in front of a beautifully lit God Shiv’s incorporeal image. There was also a central display of a Shivling in the centre of the room. This was a fascinating walk through the history of these powerful places of devotion to Shiva, which have been worshipped for centuries in India.

The atmosphere was very light and yet also deeply serene and ancient. The 12 temples replicated are listed below. Their relevance to this time and the acts of God Shiva were included in the information shared about each one. This bhakti (devotion) was explained in a very practical and carefully considered way. Many visitors commented how they have never seen a display of all 12 of the renowned Jyotirling in one place before. “It’s a real treat to experience them all in one very peaceful and deeply spiritual place.”

After the exhibition, the “tour” continued through to the Global Cooperation House building and into a Raja Yoga exhibition. The tenets of Raja Yoga were shared by more than 16 teachers in four languages: Hindi, Tamil, English and Gujarati. The opening picture connected the festival of Shiv Ratri to the relevance of these times, when God Shiva practically incarnates in the “night” to transform us and the world. This then easily led to the various pictures explaining Soul, Supreme Soul, Home, and how the connection alights and transforms us away from the five vices.

The final part of the “tour” was a practical opportunity to meditate and experience what had been shared. This was held in the Seminar Room and was a closed session beginning every 15 minutes. It filled up each time and was led by experienced meditation teachers, who gently guided souls to an experience of inner silence, The Home beyond, and God’s vibration and company.
