5 Keys to Sustainable Happiness

For how long does your happiness last?
Scientists and researchers are becoming clearer about what makes us happy and how we can influence our happiness on a personal level. But it can be quite a challenge to stay happy…
The World Happiness Report, an annual survey conducted by the U.N.’s Sustainable Development Solutions Network ranks global happiness in countries around the world. This year, Finland claimed the top spot for the 4th year running with Denmark in second place, then Switzerland, Iceland, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden. What can we learn from these places about happy families and communities?

Sonja Ohlsson is the director of Brahma Kumaris (BK) in Denmark and has practised Raja Yoga meditation since 1986. She is a meditation teacher with the Prison service in Copenhagen. In 2009 she was instrumental in developing the BK Environment initiative in order to meet the need for a higher environmental awareness within the international BK community and to add the inner dimension to the discussions at the UN climate change and biodiversity conferences.
