Consul General of India in Cape Town Welcome Brahma Kumaris, 25th Anniversary of Global Peace House in Durban

South Africa : The South African BK family had the fortune of hosting Senior Rajayogi BK Sheilu from Mount Abu.

A public program was held in the City of Mbombla, the capital of Mpumalanga, in the City Hall, which was attended by about 30 souls. BK Sister Sheilu explained the significance of Rakhi. A beautiful classical dance was performed by a professional dancer before the Rakhi ceremony.

BK Sheilu shared with a group of approximately 120 women from the Department of Science and Innovation on how to develop inner strength and confidence. She encouraged the women to use the technique of meditation to curb their regular stress in their work environment.

The BK centre in Centurion hosted an event “The Link of Love” at which BK Sheilu shared the special significance of the Festival of Rakshabandhan. Participants were reminded to keep alive the sacred bond that each one made with the Supreme Source, and how this promise would be the key to experiencing strength and power to overcome adversity.

A special class was held for the BK family in the morning on the theme, ”The Avyakt experience – then and now,” in which BK Sheilu took the family on a beautiful journey of the early days and how that experience has now evolved into a more subtle but equally powerful experience.

A program for the public entitled “The Wisdom of Love” began with a powerful rendition of poetry by a young artist from Soweto. BK Sheilu expressed the power of love in the process of our transformation, with very apt and delightful stories.

BK Sheilu with the entire BK family in Johannesburg and surrounding centres together created such a beautiful atmosphere that we were all transported subtly to Madhuban.

BK Sheilu went on to be in Port Elizabeth and Grahamstown, where the BK family enjoyed BK Sheilu’s presence and celebrated rakhi both for the BK family as well as for the general community.

In Cape Town BK Sheilu shared in a lovely way the significance of the sandalwood tilak that is applied – it has a golden colour, it is cool and has a unique fragrance – a reminder of how we need to be. A lovely meeting was held with the Consulate General of India, Mr. Abhishek Shukla, who warmly welcomed BK Sheilu and appreciated the wisdom that she shared. The rakhi program for contact souls included live sacred music with BK Yusuf and BK Lynne (Desert Rose), creating a very powerful and loving atmosphere.

A special celebration was held of the 25th anniversary of Global Peace House in Durban. In a packed hall, various special guests included Mr. Ashwin Trikamjee, head of the Hindu Maha Sabha, as well as Ms. Ela Gandhi and others who played a significant role in the establishment and ongoing service of Global Peace House. The celebration included beautiful contributions including a band of young African artists who enthralled the audience with their music, all created by themselves without any musical instruments. BK Sheilu congratulated the family and shared a beautiful message on peace.

BK Sheilu returned to Lenasia, where an evening talk was held on the theme “The Wisdom of Love.” A gathering of souls enjoyed BK Sheilu sharing the importance of soul consciousness because it holds the essence of pure love.

BK Sheilu shared with a group of carers working in the township of Soweto the methods to serve selflessly while also taking care of yourself. The last program was a television recording for national television series called Dignity in Diversity….

The BK family of South Africe felt blessed and very grateful for having such a special time with BK Sheilu.
