Union Minister Nitin Gadkari Lauds Brahma Kumaris, Launches ‘Self Reliant Farmer’ Campaign

Nagpur( Maharashtra): The Brahma Kumaris of Vishwa Shanti Sarovar,  Jamtha, in Nagpur,  held a grand launching program for ‘Atmanirbhar Kisan'(Self Reliant Farmer) Campaign and a spiritual museum.  The virtual inauguration was done by Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India.  The Chief Speaker of the day was BK Raju, Vice Chairperson of Agriculture and Rural Development Wing of RERF and BK Sarla from Mehsana, Chairperson of Agriculture and Rural Development Wing of RERF.  Chief Guests were Krupal Tumane, MP Lok Sabha from Nagpur and Sunil Kedar, Minister of Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development, Government of Maharashtra.

Mohan Mate, Member of Vidhan Sabha, R. Vimla, Collector of Nagpur,  Rashmi Barve, Head of Zila Parishad of Nagpur, Sandeep Itkelwar, Trustee of Nagpur Sudhar Pranyas, Ravindra Bhonsle, Joint Director of Krishi Nagpur Vibhag, Parineeta Phuke, Y. G. Prasad, Director ICAR, Central Institute For Cotton Research,  Nagpur,  were also present.

BK Sarla, Chairperson of Agriculture and Rural Development Wing of RERF,  said that the Prime Minister, while inaugurating the Atmanirbhar Kisan Campaign,  had urged Organizations like Brahma Kumaris to come forward and empower farmers, inspire them to act and take the model of Organic Yogic Farming to villages of India. The aim of this campaign is to improve the condition of farmers.  Purification of seeds will improve the plight of the farmers.  Spirituality can empower the thought process of farmers.  People from villages all over the area have joined us for this program.

BK Raju, Vice Chairperson of Agriculture and Rural Development Wing of RERF,  said that establishing all connections with God can empower the farmers.  Practice of Rajyoga frees us from dependence on environmental factors.  Through Organic Yogic Farming, pure food will be produced and Bharat will become Golden again.

Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India,  through his video address, said that he is worried about the economic condition of farmers.  He stressed the need to adopt Organic Yogic Farming and test tube method of ensuring good breeds of cows. Water conservation is also a priority.  He appreciated the efforts of Brahma Kumaris in this direction.

Sunil Kedar, Minister of Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development,  Government of Maharashtra,  talked about the dependence of farmers on monsoon rains. Farmers children do not want to continue farming as it is not lucrative.  He hoped the Agriculture and Rural Development Wing of RERF will improve the condition of farmers.

BK Trupti, National Coordinator of Agriculture and Rural Development Wing of RERF,  said that inner transformation with Rajyoga will empower the farmer.  Only then can farmers practice genuine Organic Farming.

BK Mahendra Thakur, Director of Ruchi Agro Farm, explained the outline of this program.  He said the nation cannot prosper without the farmer.

BK Rajni, Incharge of Brahma Kumaris in Nagpur, welcomed everyone on this occasion.  BK Sunanda from Pune held a Rajyoga session with commentary.

The Self Reliant Farmer Campaign and Spiritual Museum were inaugurated in the presence of all the dignitaries.  BK Manisha of Nagpur made all Campaign participants take a pledge.  BK Sarla and BK Raju gave flags to them. BK Sumanth, BK Shashikant, BK Dev and BK Dashrath from Mount Abu,  as well as many dignitaries of the area were present.

About 2000 people attended this program.  BK Sarita from Dhamtari coordinated this program.
