St. Petersburg (Russia): “The Image of an Angel” public event was conducted at the St. Petersburg Center of the Brahma Kumaris, “Lighthouse”. It was under the program series of “A Garden-Like City,” a new cultural and educational project launched by the Brahma Kumaris in St. Petersburg, Russia, in February 2019. It has been gaining momentum ever since.
The project is being carried out with the support of the Committee for Social Policy of the city government and the Women’s Alliance of St. Petersburg. Public events within its framework take place on a monthly basis, with every month featuring a particular set of virtues and powers symbolically represented with one of 6 main attractions of the St. Petersburg city landscape, namely a BRIDGE, a RIVER, a PARK, etc.
The month of April has been dedicated to ANGELS, and there is a good reason for that! St. Petersburg is renowned for its numerous statues of angels. The public event “The Image of an Angel” held in Lighthouse, the Brahma Kumaris Centre in St. Petersburg, invited the audience to contemplate upon these questions by using the language of visual images, music, dance and reflective meditation.
BK Santosh (Senior Raja Yoga Teacher, Director of the Brahma Kumaris in St. Petersburg) highlighted, among others, 4 main qualifications of an angel that resonated deeply with the feelings of the audience.
- An angel is a being of LOVE. If you are unable to love the world around you, then what sort of an angel are you?
- An angel is a being of CLEANLINESS and PURITY. Touched by an angel, everything becomes not just clean but shining!
- An angel is a being of LIGHT, weightless, beyond the gravitational pull of mundane awareness.
- An angel is a being of BEAUTY. The beauty of an angel is unique. Sometimes people may think in an ugly way, yet they receive awards at (physical) beauty contests. An angel’s thoughts are always beautiful, filled with purity, truthfulness and benevolence.

Ms. Valentina Sergeeva, Doctor of Economics, Vice-president of the Academy of Russian Literature and Fine Arts, Author of several books of poems, said, “People whom I see here are shining with a kind of inner light. After the meeting, I feel I know angels more closely!”
Mr. Sergey Kuzionov, Head of the “Spiritual Renaissance” department of the International Academy of Ecology & Life Protection Sciences, said, “As I come here, I feel I come in touch with something invisible, very light and pure. I wish more and more people should come to know about this place and experience the joy of the angelic world.”
Ms. Marina Maslova, Singer, prize-winner of international contests, said, “For many people an angel is just a mythical, fairytale-ish creature, but the definition of an angel is much deeper and higher. I realised that an angel is my self-awareness. It is cleanliness of my thoughts and feelings. An angel is someone who lives within my soul. And whether he would like to stay there or not, depends on me. I shall nourish and sustain him well so that he can stay with me and grow!”

फरिश्ते का स्वरूप विषय पर सेंट पीट्सबर्ग में कार्यक्रम आयोजित
सेंट पीट्सबर्ग (रूस)। सेंट पीट्सबर्ग स्थित ब्रह्मा कुमारीज के सेंटर, लाइटहाउस में ‘इमेज ऑफ एन एंजेल’ विषय पर एक कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गया। फरवरी 2019 में संस्था ने नए सांस्कृतिक एवं शैक्षिक प्रोजेक्ट- ‘ए गार्डन लाइक सिटी’ का शुभारंभ किया है, जिसके तहत इस कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गया। यह प्रोजेक्ट स्थानीय सरकार के कमेटी फॉर सोशल पॉलिसी एवं पीट्सबर्ग के वूमन एलायंस के सहयोग से शुरू किया गया है। इसमें हर महीने शहर के प्रमुख स्थलों पर एक आयोजन होता है। लाइटहाउस में हुए कार्यक्रम के दौरान ब्रह्मा कुमारीज के सेंटर डायरेक्टर बीके संतोष ने फरिश्ते के चार गुणों का उल्लेख किया, जिसमें प्रेम, स्वच्छता, पवित्रता, लाइट एवं ब्यूटी शामिल है। कार्यक्रम में मौजूद एकेडमी ऑफ रशियन लिटरेचर ऐंड फाइन आर्ट्स की वाइस प्रेसिडेंट एवं लेखिका वैलेंटिना सरगीवा ने कहा,’ मैं सभा में मौजूद लोगों को देख पा रही हूं कि वे कैसे अपने रूहानी रोशनी से चमक रहे हैं। मुझे लग रहा है कि मैं फरिश्तों को और करीब से जानती हूं।‘ वहीं, डिपार्टमेंट ऑफ द इंटरनेशनल एकेडमी ऑफ इकोलॉजी ऐंड लाइफ प्रोटेक्शन साइंसेंज के प्रमुख सरगेय कुजियोनोव ने कहा कि यहां आकर लग रहा है कि मैं किसी अदृश्य-सी दुनिया में आ गया हूं, जो उज्ज्वल और पवित्र है। मुझे लगता है कि अधिक से अधिक लोगों को इस जगह से लाभ उठाना चाहिए और फरिश्तों की दुनिया का अनुभव करना चाहिए। सिंगर मरीना मास्लोवा ने कहा कि बहुत से लोगों के लिए फरिश्ते काल्पनिक पात्र होते हैं, जो परियों की कहानियों में सुनाई व दिखाई देते हैं, लेकिन इनकी परिभाषा अलग है। हम विचारों, क्रियाओं में जितना पवित्र रहेंगे, अवेयर होंगे, उतने ही फरिश्ते स्वरूप में आ सकेंगे। हर व्यक्ति में फरिश्ता होता है, जो उनकी आत्मा में वास करता है। अच्छी बात यह है कि जहां यह शहर एंजेल्स की मूर्तियों के लिए सुप्रसिद्ध है, वहीं अप्रैल का महीना फरिश्तों के लिए समर्पित होता है।
