Seminar on ‘Role of Media in Bringing Golden Age’ in Omkareshwar

Omkareshwar (Madhya Pradesh): Journalists and members from the Saint Society Omkareshwar came together to deliberate upon the topic “Media and its Role in Bringing the Golden age.” Speaking on the occasion, Swami Suresh Chandragiri Maharaj, Head of the society, said that since the impact of media is so huge on people today, it is imperative that it gives more prominence to positive content and happenings. The current tendency to highlight crimes and depressive news on the front page has a very bad impact on the readers’ psyche. Media correspondents from the print, electronic and web sections took part in this seminar. Swami Maharaj further said that the choice of constructive words with restraint by the journalists is the need of the hour.

Prof. Kamal Dixit, Editor of Razikhushi, said that both saints and journalists have the common responsibility of social upliftment. While saints try to decode the real nature of God, journalists too try to bring out the truth about this society. Hence, journalists must always use their voice for social progress. For this they must not cater to their narrow interests and affiliations. The coming of the Golden age can happen only through spirituality, for which the Brahma Kumaris is making regular efforts. Only if we change can we change others.

BK Shanti, Head of BK Center in Khandwa, urged everyone to make RajYoga a part of their lifestyle. It would greatly help in living a smooth life. BK Shyama, In charge of Omkareshwar center, also extolled the benefits of Rajyoga meditation and invited everyone to come and learn it.

Mr. Rajesh Rajore, Editor of ‘Deshonnati’ from Maharashtra, said that only if we ourselves live a value-based life can we maintain those standards in our work. Mr. Santosh Rathore, Head of the municipality of Mundi Nagar, said that politicians and journalists jointly shape the society. Mr. Pushpendra Sahu,  Joint editor of ‘Shiv Amantran,’ Mount Abu, talked about the unique power of the local press in bringing a change at the grassroots level.
