Seminar on ‘Debugging the Mind’ for IT Professionals

Borivali (Mumbai, Maharashtra): A wonderful seminar, ‘Debugging the Mind,’ took place exclusively for IT professionals at the Brahma Kumaris, Prabhu Upvan Rajyoga Centre in Borivali (East), Mumbai.

A short skit — highlighting in a very light manner the issues faced in the IT industry — was followed by a wonderful keynote Speech by the main dynamic speaker Brijesh Chawda, Senior Manager, Education Department, Infosys Ltd.

In his keynote address Brijesh Chawda said, “The mind is facing many bugs today (inefficient decisions, loss of memory, thinking patterns which harm us and others, etc.) … Hence, let’s proceed to de-bug the mind!”

“The mind,” he continued, “is like our operating system, consisting of conscious, sub-conscious and perceived layers … wherever our thought energy goes and flows, things grow. Hence, the first important tool to debug the mind is to practice a few moments of silence — in particular during transitions, such as leaving home for the office, traffic jams, etc. — so that we use this time for strengthening the mind rather than waste patterns (example, being judgmental, aimlessly checking social media, etc).”

“Today, the variable ‘I’ has become associated with how others perceive me, ego, etc. … But originally, it is completely error-free, pure and divine … full of peace, love and joy! Although we may go through ups and downs, God is the Supreme Witness or Companion! … Whose code is perfect, super-fast and available on run-time (i.e., always available) … Hence, remembering Him and experiencing His presence makes us also full of the experience of divine virtues and powers!”

The keynote was followed by sharing of experiences by Advocate Amit Mehta, Managing Partner of the law firm Solicis Lex, and Dr. Suresh Shan, Chief Technology Officer, Mahindra Finance.

The entire event — well hosted by BK Srinidhi from Mount Abu — was very warm, accommodating, organized and professional.

A wonderful interactive Question and Answer session followed, with the panelists Brijesh and BK Divyaprabha, Sub-Zone Incharge of North Mumbai Centres.

To conclude, BK Sister Kavita facilitated a very innovative live poll, where the audience explored the impact of the over-use of technology on daily life and their take-away resolutions from the program. In particular, everyone unanimously concluded they will give 15 minutes of time daily for practicing meditation!

Finally, she conducted a very beautiful (IT special) meditation commentar along the following lines:

For a moment, I log-off from the external surroundings … And look at the screen of my mind … There are many windows open, I minimize these … and consciously open a new window, of acceptance and love … I accept myself as I am … I connect to the Supreme, and experience His unconditional divine love falling upon me … Like a small growing plant, I start growing under His divine loving canopy of protection … Om Shanti!
