Brahma Kumaris gave message of Peace, Brotherhood and Harmony

Mohali (Punjab) : The Brahma Kumaris celebrated the pious festival of Shivratri with great devotion, love and enthusiasm at Sukh Shanti Bhawan, Phase 7.  More than 450 people participated from various places, such as Mohali, Chandigarh, Kharar, Ropar, Kurali, Morinda and Nurpurbedi. Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu, Minister for Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Labour, was the Chief Guest.  Brahma Kumari Prem Lata, Director, Rajyoga Centres Mohali-Ropar Circle, presided over the gathering.  Brahma Kumari Rama, Co-Director, Rajyoga Centres, Mohali-Ropar Circle, presented the keynote speech. Dr. Satsih Aggarwal, Director, General Health Services, Haryana, was the Guest of Honour.

Interfaith representatives, including Sardar Arjan Singh from Sri Sacha Dhan Gurudwara Phase 3 BI; Father Lawrence, Benedict Church the King Cathedral, Sector 19, Chandigarh; Janab Zubair Ahmed, Imam of Masjid from Sector 52, and S. Daljit Singh President, Namdhari Sangat Gurudwara, Phase 7, participated.

In the candle-lighting ceremony Mr. Ashok Gupta, M.D., Diplast Plastics Ltd. Mohali; Mr. Kuldip Verma, Chief Engineer, PWD B&R Punjab;  Mr. Gurcharan Singh Saran, former District and Session Judge; Mr. N.S.S Kalasi; Mr. K. K . Seth Industrialist;  etc., also lit candles to inaugurate the  celebrations.

After hoisting God Shiva’s flag, Brahma Kumari Prem Lata led the pledge of Peace, Brotherhood and Harmony with all on this occasion.

On this occasion, Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu, Minister for Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Labour, congratulated all on Shivratri. He lauded the role of the Brahma Kumaris who are rendering selfless service to humanity. He further said that no religion teaches hatred, jealousy and enmity. He further said that Shivratri is a festival of all.

While presiding over the gathering, Brahma Kumari Premlata in her blessings asked all to learn the technique to derive powers and happiness from Supreme God Father Shiva who has now descended in the corporeal medium of Prajapita Brahma. She claimed that peacelessness, terror, sufferings and suicides are the result of a mere materialistic approach.

Brahma Kumari Rama threw light on understanding various rituals of Shivratri such as offering flowers of AAK, Dhatura, Belpatras and  keeping a fast on this festival. She advised keeping a balance of materialism and spirituality in life.
