Rudrapur ( Uttarakhand ): The “My Bharat, Intoxicant-Free Bharat” Campaign of the Brahma Kumaris organized a program called “My Uttarakhand, Intoxicant-Free Uttarakhand” at the Rudra Hotel. Mr. Shiv Kumar Aggrawal, Chairman of the Kumar Group of Industries, and MLA from Rudrapur Mr. Rajkumar Thukral were the Chief Guests at this program.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Shiv Kumar Aggrawal, a well-known industrialist and social worker, said that the increase in drug addiction amongst women and youth today is a cause of concern. Yoga is the only lasting solution to it. Today, meditation is curing many serious diseases. Society should come forward to take this campaign far and wide for the benefit of the masses. He appreciated deeply this initiative of the Brahma Kumaris organization and said that other organizations can pitch in with such efforts as well.
MLA from Rudrapur, Mr. Rajkumar Thukral, while presiding over the function, said that drug addiction is eating into the roots of our society and making it hollow. Everyone needs to come together to get rid of it.
Other speakers also shared their views on de-addiction. Parents need to make their children aware of the side effects of addiction.
Mr. Jaswinder Singh Kharbanda was present as a special guest. Mr. Suresh Parihar, President of the Forest Development Corporation, and Mr. V.K. Surajmukhi were also present. Dr. Banarasi Lal Shah from Mount Abu, Dr. K.D. Joshi, Dr. Ram Babu, Dr. Hina, Dr. Gomti, Dr. Savita and BK Rajiv also interacted with the audience.
