Mysore (Karnataka): The Brahma Kumaris Mysuru Sub-Zone, in association with the Medical wing of the Rajayoga Education and Research Foundation (RERF), Mount Abu, organised a Conference on the topic ‘Mind-Body Medicine’ at Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) Convocation Hall in Muktagangothri.

About 1,000 doctors from various parts of the State and Tamil Nadu participated in the event who were all welcomed by the Brahma Kumaris by applying a ‘Tilak’ on their foreheads and greeting them with flowers.

Dr. BK Mohit Gupta gave a presentation on ‘Revealing the Secrets of Mind’. He said that today science has proved that silencing the mind is necessary for better delivery of essential health services by the doctors.

“Sister BK Shivani” delivered lectures on ‘Healing the Healer’ and ‘Creating a Miracle-Celebrating Life’ which deeply influenced the participating doctors. She emphasized the need for the doctors to make lifestyle changes that they themselves advocate their patients to follow.  She said that positive affirmations can transform food to ‘Prasad’ and water to ‘Amruth. This methodology can also be imbibed by patients to recover from illnesses.

Speaking on ‘Healing the Healer’ with special reference to the medical field, Motivational Speaker Sister BK Shivani suggested hospitals to set up an ‘Anger Zone’ on the premises where anyone in a fit of rage or anger could go and defuse their volatile mind in a soothing and pleasant ambiance. She advised doctors or any professional to leave their home for work leaving behind anger or displeasure which otherwise would contaminate the work too. She contended that acceptance and meditation would do wonders in a person’s behaviour and quality of work. She demonstrated the art of meditation appealing the audience to join her which was obliged.

Dr. Vishwanath Kini, Senior Consultant Radiologist, Qatar, delivered the welcome speech.
