Governor of Jharkhand and Governor of West Bengal Address E-Conference by Women’s Wing

Mount Abu ( Rajasthan ): The Women’s Wing of the Rajayoga Education and Research Foundation in collaboration with Brahma Kumaris held an International Women’s E-Conference. The topic of the inaugural session was “Women: Key to Change the Society.” It was addressed by the Honorable Governors of Jharkhand and West Bengal, along with other prominent personalities.

Draupadi Murmu, Honorable Governor of Jharkhand, in her address said that it is time to take women empowerment to equality. Women have contributed to social development since time immemorial.  They are the pillars of the family and the first teacher of every child. The Brahma Kumaris Organization is a stellar example of women empowerment. She shared the fact that she has gained strength and peace after joining the Brahma Kumaris.  She wished to see this replicated everywhere.

Jagdish Dhankhar, Honorable Governor of West Bengal, said that we must all work together to ensure equality and dignity of women. The Brahma Kumaris Organization is the only Spiritual organization managed by women.  The way it has grown and worked in 140 countries of the world is worth admiration.

BK Chakradhari, Chairperson of the Women’s Wing and General Director of Brahma Kumaris in Russia, talked about the aims of this E-Conference. She said that society is made up of four main parts:  Family, Religion, Politics and Science.  All these are today on the decline because of various stresses and strains. Parents should teach their children the way to cope with various inevitable ‘failures’ in life.  The method of connecting with the Supreme Soul should top all religious teachings.  Politics should be based on service rather than power play. Women, being the base of a family, can help ensure inculcation of good values in children, leading to a good society.

Rita Bahuguna Joshi, Member of Parliament from Uttar Pradesh, Chairperson of Akhil Bharatiya Mahila Parishad from 2003 to 2008, Recipient of the UN Award of Excellence for Most Distinguished Mayor in 2001, said that the 21st Century is being seen as the era of Women’s Empowerment everywhere.  Society’s perception regarding women needs to change.  Economic opportunities can go a long way in women empowerment. Brahma Kumaris sisters radiate peace and power. This gets transferred to all those who meet them.

BK Jayanti, Director of Brahma Kumaris in Europe and the Middle East, said that spirituality can provide a way for women to realize their true potential.  For this, she needs to know and practice knowledge of the self. Once understood, if she acts with this knowledge, she can never lose her dignity.  Brahma Baba, Founder of the Brahma Kumaris, made women the frontrunners of this organization.  This was a mighty step towards their empowerment.

Ms. Magda Fernandez Vargas, Counsellor and Consul to Embassy of Costa Rica in India, said that we must ask ourselves the question ‘Who Am I?’ We should meditate to hear the voice of God. We must first change ourselves to change the world.  She thanked the Brahma Kumaris for the immense services they are rendering all over the world.
