Coastal Beach Cleaning on “International Coastal Cleanup Day”

Adyar, Chennai ( Tamil Nadu ): 17th September was observed as “International Coastal Cleanup Day”. The Brahma Kumaris, Adyar branch participated in it which was conducted throughout the nation in 600 different coastal areas.

Around 80+ volunteers participated in the drive. It started from 6:00 a.m. and ended by around 8:30 a.m. Awareness was created among the public through a peace March holding placards on slogans of saving the ocean and its resources.

Dr. Santhanam, IAS, and Mr. Bhagwan Singh, Eminent Journalist, graced the occasion with their presence and they were also involved in the cleaning drive.

They emphasized the need of the hour to be plastic-free and take care of the environment.

Dr. BK Muthumani in her address spoke on the need for cleansing of the mind along with physical cleanliness. Mind pollution leads to environmental pollution.
