Brahma Kumaris spread message of peace on International Day of Peace

Ludhiana ( Punjab ): Brahma Kumaris Ludhiana organised a peace talk in Shree Atam Vallabh Jain College, Hussainpura and at PCTE college , Baddowal. Message of peace and suicide-prevention was spread out through a beautiful play. BK Monika, BK Himanshu, BK Rajesh and BK Manish hosted the event.
Ludhiana sub-zone incharge BK Saraswati showered the knowledge about real peace and prosperity through FM gold radio, Fastway news and Ludhiana Live media website. Brahma Kumaris are trying in all ways to bring peace to the whole world.
The United Nations’ (UN) International Day of Peace is celebrated on September 21 each year to recognize the efforts of those who have worked hard to end conflict and promote peace. The International Day of Peace is also a day of ceasefire – personal or political.
The Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University is a non-governmental organization in general consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), in consultative status with The United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) and affiliated to the Department of Public Information (DPI).
The Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University earned its first affiliation with the United Nations Department of Public Information (DPI) in 1980. The BKWSU has held consultative status with the Economic and Social Council since 1983, and General Consultative Status since 1998. The Brahma Kumaris at the United Nations work in the areas of social development, humanitarian affairs and values.
In the year 1986, under the supervision of Dadi Prakashmani, second administrative head of Brahma Kumaris, ‘Million Minutes of Peace’ appeal was organised by the United Nations (UN) on the occasion of the international year of peace. This served people of all backgrounds to unite together to observe peace and brotherhood, and it also brought a big value to Brahma Kumaris, which was then recognised as an international NGO by the UN.
Dadi Prakashmani was honored with United Nations International Year of Peace Medal (1986) and International Peace Messenger Award from the UN Secretary General (1987).
On the International Day of Peace, also known as World Peace Day, people around the world take part in various activities and organize events centered on the theme “Peace”. Events vary from private gatherings to public concerts and forums involving large audiences.
