VIP get-together to celebrate the 40-year anniversary in Johor Bahru, Malaysia

Paragon Hotel, Johor Bahru, Malaysia : The first event for IPs and VIPs in the state of Johor was hosted by the Brahma Kumaris Foundation(BKF) in conjunction with its 40th year anniversary celebration. About 70 professionals, leaders and representatives of NGOs and charitable institutions graced the event.

The Guest of Honour was Dato’ Sugumaran Raman, retired Senior Assistant Commissioner of Royal Malaysia Police and currently serving as the Chairman for Yayasan Sultanah Rogayah and Personal Officer to His Majesty Sultan of Johor.

The program began with the welcome address by the President of BKM Johor, Jothi Rajah followed by a special address by Dato’ Sugumaran. In his speech, he humbly requested the Brahma Kumaris to offer their services to Yayasan Sultanah Rogayah and assured that he himself will try to practice Rajyoga meditation techniques.

The highlight of the program was “How I See the World Around Me” forum, moderated by Josephine Yew and participated by four speakers from JEWEL, Befrienders, Laughter Yoga and the Catholic Church. The forum concluded with all guests keying in their contributions to society through an app which was then flashed on the screen for the rest to see.

It was followed by the Director of BKF Malaysia, BK Meera’s sharing who emphasised on the state of our mind when serving society. Her advice to all present was “Give 3 and get 1 free” which is to care, share and inspire with love and sweetness. She conducted a guided meditation with commentary for all guests. It was a powerful moment with pin drop silence.

To add colour to the celebration, there were two beautiful performances from BK Shulakshini and BK Disha and team from Rawang.

Guests were also served with a scrumptious free-flowing spread of refreshments. It was a delightful evening for all as everyone shared their views about how they enjoyed every session and benefitted especially from BK sister’s sharing.
