Mount Abu ( Rajasthan ): The inaugural session of a media conference cum retreat entitled “Media, Spirituality and Social Transformation” was held at the Brahma Kumaris Gyansarovar complex in Mount Abu.
The aim of this initiative was to stimulate introspection amongst media professionals to embrace spirituality as a means for constructive journalism benefitting the society.
It was attended by prominent personalities including BK Karuna, Chairperson of Media Wing of the Brahma Kumaris; Prof. Kamal Dixit, Editor of Rajikhushi Magazine; Dr. Sanjeev Bhanawat, former head of the Center of Mass Communication, Rajasthan University; Mr. Shailendra Saxena, Consultant Editor of Dainik Bhaskar, Dehradun; BK Sheilu, Vice Chairperson of the Education Wing of the Brahma Kumaris; BK Atam Prakash, Vice Chairperson of the Media Wing, Brahma Kumaris; BK Nirmala and media professionals from all over India.
BK Karuna, Chairperson of the Media Wing of the Brahma Kumaris, addressed the inaugural session by recalling the guiding principle of the Brahma Kumaris: One God, One World and One Family. Devotion to the work of world transformation through self-transformation should be the ideal. The Brahma Kumaris have been doing this work selflessly for the past eighty three years. Bharat has to become the World Teacher in Spirituality to bring in the Golden Age. Media should perform selfless service in order to be effective.
Keynote speaker, Prof. Kamal Dixit, Editor of Rajikhushi Magazine, said that this opportunity should be used for deep introspection as to how to bring personal transformation. Media people should understand that publishing negative news has not led to its redressal in the society. Rather it has increased negativity. Let’s explore the initiative “Positive News for a Happy Society”. Let’s pledge to practice positive journalism for a new world.
Dr. Sanjeev Bhanawat, former head of the Center of Mass Communication, Rajasthan University, said that he is constantly in touch with the Brahma Kumaris and working for the initiatives given by them. He appreciated the social work being done by the organization. Self transformation must be done for lasting social change. The definition of “news” itself needs to change today. Change will come from such conferences only.
Mr. Shailendra Saxena, Consultant Editor of Dainik Bhaskar, Dehradun, said that we must pause to think about the real purpose of our existence. Mere discussion without introspection will not produce results. Spirituality is the road to truth. Following this path will change the work output for the better.
Guest of Honour Mr. Dinesh Tiwari, Assistant Editor of Hindustan Hindi Daily, said that the topic today is a torchbearer for the journalistic world. Without inner peace, writing positive content is not possible.
BK Atam Prakash, Vice Chairperson of the Media Wing, Brahma Kumaris, enunciated the aims of the Brahma Kumaris. Good karmas (actions) and empowerment is possible only through connection with the Supreme Soul.
BK Dr. Nirmala, Director of Gyansarovar, said that our conduct can improve by following the spiritual path.
BK Sheilu, Vice Chairperson of the Education Wing, Brahma Kumaris, in her address said that the commitment to peace should be our first priority. Knowledge of the self and the Supreme Soul brings lasting peace. She guided everyone in experiencing Rajayoga meditation with a commentary.
BK Chandrakala, Zonal Co-ordinator of the Media Wing, Brahma Kumaris, did the stage management and BK Shantanu, Head Quarters Co-ordinator of the Media Wing, gave a vote of thanks. The program included a candle lighting ceremony, and beautiful song and dance sequences.

आबू पर्वत ( ज्ञान सरोवर ): आज ज्ञान सरोवर स्थित हार्मनी हॉल में ब्रह्माकुमारीज एवं आर ई आर एफ की भगिनी संस्था, ” मीडिया प्रभाग ” के संयुक्त तत्वावधान में एक अखिल भारतीय मीडिया सम्मेलन का आयोजन किया गया। इस सम्मेलन का विषय था ‘ मीडिया ,अध्यात्म और रूपांतरण ‘. इस सम्मेलन में देश के सैकड़ों मीडिया प्रभारियों और कर्मियों ने भाग लिया। दीप प्रज्वलन के द्वारा सम्मेलन का उद्घाटन सम्पन्न हुआ।
ज्ञान सरोवर अकादमी की निदेशक राजयोगिनी निर्मला दीदी जी ने सम्मेलन का अध्यक्षीय उद्बोधन प्रस्तुत किया। दीदी जी ने कहा कि विज्ञान ने सुख के अनेक साधन दिए हैं। चमत्कार जैसा कर दिया है। फिर भी लोग सुख शांति के लिए भटक रहे हैं। कौन लाएगा सुख और शांति जीवन में? मीडिया के लोग सभी को प्रभावित कर सकते हैं। मीडिया से लोग काफी नकारात्मक बातें तो सीखते हैं। उसी प्रकार सकारात्मकता भी मीडिया के माध्यम से सिखाई जा सकती है। आध्यात्मिकता हमें मूल्यवान बनाती है। जीवन में नैतिकता लाती है। जितना आध्यात्मिक ज्ञान होगा – आचरण श्रेष्ठ होगा। श्रेष्ठ आचरण से सामाजिक रूपांतरण संभव हो जायेगा।
मीडिया प्रभाग के अध्यक्ष राजयोगी करुणा जी ने अपना अध्यक्षीय सम्भाषण प्रस्तुत किया। आपने कहा कि पधारे हुए सभी मीडिया कर्मियों के स्वागत के लिए खुद परमात्मा ही प्रस्तुत हो गए हैं। मौसम की पहली बारिश ने आपका स्वागत किया है। माहौल खुशनुमा हो गया है। हम सभी सबसे पहले देश के लिए हैं। पहले देश है , बाद में कुछ भी है। हमारी संस्था एक लक्ष्य को लेकर चल रही है। हम ‘विश्व एक परिवार’ की अवधारणा पर चलते आ रहे हैं। एक ईश्वर की शिक्षा के आधार पर हम सभी को , मीडिया कर्मियों को , इस विश्व को बेहतर विश्व बनाना है।
आज के हमारे मुख्य वक्ता ,राजी ख़ुशी पत्रिका के सम्पादक प्रोफ कमल दीक्षित ने कहा कि अध्यात्म मनुष्य को भीतर से परिवर्तित करती है। अध्यात्म की इससे बड़ी भूमिका और कुछ भी नहीं है। भीतर से परिवर्तन होना बड़ी बात है। वैसी किसी भी सत्ता को दुनिया की बड़ी से बड़ी हस्ती भी सम्मान देती है। आपने एक – दो उदाहरण दिया और अपनी बात को स्पष्ट किया।
आपने कहा कि हम सभी को इन दो तीन दिनों में अपने भीतर झाँक कर देखना चाहिए और वहाँ की सफाई के लिए कटिबद्ध होना चाहिए। हम सभी को यह बात अच्छी तरह समझना होगा की भलाई की भावना भी संक्रामक होती है। मीडिया कर्मियों को अपने भीतर परिवर्तन लाकर एक वैसे संसार की स्थापना करनी चाहिए।
राजस्थान विश्वविद्यालय जन संचार केंद्र के पूर्व अध्यक्ष प्रोफ संजीव भाणावत ने विशिष्ठ अतिथि के रूप में आज अपनी बातें रखीं। आपने कहा कि विश्व रूपांतरण के लिए सबसे पहले स्व रुपान्तरण की जरूरत होती है। मीडिया की भूमिका है की समाज के हर वर्ग के अवमूल्यन को उसे रोकना है। और उसके लिए कहीं न कहीं आध्यात्म को अपनाना , उसकी गहराई को समझना और खुद के भीतर बदलाव लाकर समाज को बदलना उसका लक्ष्य होना चाहिए। यह हम सभी की जिम्मेवारी है। आपने अच्छे लोगों के एक संगठन के निर्माण की अनिवार्यता पर जोर दिया।
दैनिक भास्कर ,देहरादून के सलाहकार सम्पादक शैलेन्द्र सक्सेना जी ने भी विशिष्ठ अतिथि के रूप से अपनी बातें समेलन के समक्ष रखीं। आपने कहा कि संसार में अनेक चक्र अनवरत जारी हैं। हम सभी उस चक्र में कहीं न कहीं एक यन्त्र की तरह शामिल हैं। मगर क्या हम कभी विचार करते हैं की हमारा अपना वजूद क्या है ? दरअसल खुद को जानना और पहचानना ही आध्यात्म है। आपने बताया कि आध्यात्मिक होकर ,खुद को रूपांतरित करके , समाज को रूपांतरित कर सकेंगे।
आपने आगे कहा कि विगत ४० वर्षों में वे भारत के सभी योग संस्थानों में गए और वहाँ भरपूर समय बिताया। आज से ३ वर्ष पूर्व उनका सम्पर्क ब्रह्माकुमारीज़ से हुआ। आपको दादी जानकी जी का भी सानिध्य प्राप्त हुआ। यहां आपने एक अद्भुत अलौकिकत और सकारात्मकता को गहराई से महसूस किया। यही महसूसता आतंरिक रूपांतरण का कारण बनी है। अतः सभी मीडिया कर्मियों को इस सुनहरे अवसर का लाभ लेना चाहिए और एक आतंरिक रुपान्तरण करके यहां से जाना चाहिए तथा समाज में सकारात्मक रूपांतरण कायम करना चाहिए।
ब्रह्माकुमारीज़ शिक्षा प्रभाग की उपाध्यक्षा राजयोगिनी शीलू बहन ने राजयोग पर प्रकाश डाला और उसका अभ्यास भी करवाया। गहन शांति की अनुभूति करवाई।
दैनिक हिंदुस्तान के सहायक सम्पादक भाई दिनेश तिवारी जी ने भी अपने विचार प्रस्तुत किये। कहा कि मीडिया को चेतना देने वाला विषय लिया गया है सम्मेलन में। जब तक हम अपने आपको परिमार्जित , परिष्कृत नहीं करेंगे तब तक कुछ नहीं होने वाला है। सामजिक विसंगतियां क्यों हो रही हैं ? सबके मूल में है मन की अशांति। मन की कालिमा। मन की पीड़ा। जब मन को सुधार लेंगे तो सामाजिक रुपान्तरण होगा। यहाँ ब्रह्माकुमारीज़ में शिव बाबा ने मन के बारे में बताया है। उसको समझ कर राजयोगी बनकर मन को सुधार सकेंगे।
मीडिया प्रभाग के उपाध्यक्ष राजयोगी आत्म प्रकाश जी ने भी अपनी बातें बतायीं। सामाजिक रूपांतरण में मीडिया की महती भूमिका है। समाज में अनेक समस्यायें हैं। उन समस्याओं को समाप्त करने में मीडिया अपनी शक्ति का प्रयोग करके निजात दिला सकता है। अपने बताया कि जो जैसा करेगा , वह वैसा पायेगा। कर्म को सुधारने की जरूरत है। कर्म सुधरते हैं जब हम अपनी पहचान एक ऊर्जा के रूप में करते हैं। फिर ईश्वरीय सम्पर्क से पवित्रता आती रहती है।
