“The Art of Forgiveness” Talk at Sanatan Dharma Temple in Cerritos, USA

Cerritos, California ( USA ):  At the beginning of this program at the Sanatan Temple in Cerritos, California, the Brahma Kumaris Los Angeles Center Director, BK Gita, introduced the local leader and pioneer, B.U. Patel, founder of the Sanatan Temple, to BK Sister Vedanti, Director of the Brahma Kumaris in the Africa region.  B.U. Patel gracefully presented Sister Vedanti a Proclamation from Cerritos Mayor Naresh Solanki.   B.U. Patel sincerely welcomed Sister Vedanti for speaking at the Sanatan Temple.

Sister Vedanti began her talk about forgiveness. She first shared about the humanitarian service the Brahma Kumaris are doing on the African continent. A four-minute video was shown about the ‘Pause for Peace’ Project that was done in Africa.

Sister Vedanti shared how busy we all are in today’s world, that being busy makes you crazy, and busy brings you less success. She pointed out how we live with ill feelings, which in turn makes our positive thoughts unstable. She explained the topic, step by step, and also talked about learning and practicing RajaYoga Meditation.

BK Trupti from Africa began a short presentation with the words “Michhami Dukadam,” used by Jains during the days of their New Year.  It means “If I have offended you in any way, knowingly or unknowingly, in thought, word or deed, then I seek your forgiveness.”  She shared that Jains say that you forgive me and I forgive you, and we start the cycle all over again.  After finishing the empowering talk, BK Trupti conducted a deep guided meditation, once again leaving everyone feeling very light.

The session ended by sharing a blessing card and a toli (holy sweet) with each one.
