“Tasme Shree Gurave Namah” – Teacher’s Day Program in Brahmapur

Brahmapur ( Odisha ): A grand ceremony titled “Tasme Shree Gurave Namah” was hosted at the Brahma Kumaris Prabhu Upahar Retreat Centre in Ramachandra Pur to honour educationists, professors and teachers of various colleges and universities in Southern Odisha.

The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr. Pradeep Kumar Panigrahy, MLA, Gopalpur, in the presence of Professor J K Baral, former Vice Chancellor of Brahmapur University; Retired Professor Hari Hara Das; Retired Professor Ashok Rath; Retired Professor B C Choudhury; Rajyogini BK Manju, Centre In-charge, Shantikunda, Brahmapur; Rajyogini BK Mala, Director, PURC, and other eminent personalities.

Briefing on the objectives of the programme organised jointly by the Shobha Foundation and the Chanakya Educational Trust, the convenor of the programme Professor Kambhupani Sahu, Retired Principal of City College, mentioned that their objective is to honour educationists and teachers who play a key role in building the society.

Appreciating the efforts of the organisers, the chief guest Dr. Pradeep Panigrahy said that teachers play a vital role in building a model society. Director of Prabhu Upahar Retreat centre BK Mala shared that education and spirituality together provide patience and courage to build a sound moral character.

Rajyogini BK Manju explained that if spiritual education is combined with academic studies it will brighten the future of our students. She added how the spiritual teachings of the Brahma Kumaris have brought about happiness and peace in the lives of millions of families across India as well as throughout the world.

Thirty-one teachers were honoured with a Gyan Ganga Award 2019, while sixty-seven teachers were honoured with a Guru Gourav Award. More than five hundred teachers, educationists and social activists participated in the programme.
