*Interreligious Meeting

In Shantilar this group of religions and spiritual organizations was born with a common purpose of strengthening and empowering with a spiritual and ecological focus and perspective. Also, the closing of the year was made with sharing of experiences, a beautiful dance offered to Mother Earth, and with the delivery of a plant as a symbol of continuation of the united spiritual work of each organization.

AT SCAC (CIVIL SOCIETY FOR CLIMATE CHANGE) Panels were organized.

  1. Building a spirit of Solidarity and Community to face the Climate Emergency: “Ideas were shared on how to build Solidarity and Community and how to overcome fears and make decisions and carry out responsible actions to face the Climate Emergency. The isolated actions of individuals, nations or communities are not enough to mitigate carbon emissions. Each person is called to respond creatively, with solidarity and commitment. A profound and transformative adaptation is required to build internal resilience and cultivate a compassionate and community relationship among all. Panelists explored how civil society and communities can support humanity in future climate-related disturbances.
  2. The role of Faith and Spirituality in Climate Action: “How to respond with solidarity and compassion to the climate crisis and guarantee the protection and respect for human rights? Exploring the transformation of lives, policies and economic systems to urgently mitigate, adapt and foster resilience from indigenous and religious perspectives”.
  3. The power of people: “The effective response to climate change depends on overcoming internal and external barriers. Our panelists will examine how to initiate the necessary behavior change, increase the use of clean technologies and strengthen internal resilience. They will point out that hope and a change in consciousness help generate the momentum needed to fulfill the Paris Agreement. The event may include practical examples of the power of civil society; the power of collective intention; and the power of sacred activism.”

EXHIBITION ROOM

For two days BKs had an ecological exhibition hall where various activities were carried out such as:

  • Ecological Virtuscope
  • Talk about Yogic Agriculture
  • Exhibition of solar cooker and its mechanism
  • A small participation in a Music Festival for the Future: BKs had a 5-minute space where BK Moira gave a 3-minute meditation experience and BK Maria Paula briefly shared her experience as 22-year-old young about the relation between Brahma Kumaris, climate change and meditation.

The experience lived in Chile, although there was no COP there, was the same determination and strength of the Chilean community to overcome the social situation and increase awareness of climate change. Thanks to the Eco Brahma Kumaris team and the Brahma Kumaris center in Santiago for remaining stable and active spiritually in this important issue that is part of our reality now and increasingly urgent.
