Program for Children of Slum Area by Brahma Kumaris of Rewa

Rewa ( Madhya Pradesh ) : The Brahma Kumaris of Rewa, under the All India Slum Development Project, arranged a camp for the Children of Divya Nagari, Nirala Nagar, at their Centre Shantidham.

Mr. Shiva Prasad Pradhan, Social Worker and Director of Gitanjali Public School, was Chief Guest  on the occasion. Mr. Pramod Pandey, Police Sub Inspector; Mr. RB Patel, Madhyanchal Grameen Bank Chief Manager; Mrs. Maya Singh, President of Nivedita Kalyan Samiti and Manav Kalyan Samiti; Dr. Saroj Soni, State Coordinator of Arogya Bharati and a Social Worker; Mr. Raj Rakhan Patel, Social Worker; Dr. Nisha, and Mr. Aviraj Chouthwan were present as Special Guests. BK Nirmal, Rewa Centre in Charge, was also there with all the Guests.

Mr. Shiva Prasad Pradhan said, “The social service of character development and inculcation of moral values in the children of the slum areas is a very great and very noble activity. By the company of such good people, if the children become talented, I firmly believe that one day they will perform great deeds in society”. He further said that the Brahma Kumaris is praiseworthy for their impartial and selfless training given to boys and girls equally without any difference, for the upliftment of these children of slum areas.

Mr. Pramod Pandey and Dr. Saroj Soni encouraged the children to remain free from bad habits and make their family members and people in society also to remain healthy and be free from their habit of addictions.

Mr. Aviraj Chouthwan and Mr. RB Patel explained a few new points of learning to the children to develop moral values in them for their own all-round progress in life.

Dr. Nisha and Maya Singh asked the children to study well for their bright future.

BK Nirmal advised all the children to remember God before doing anything daily. She told them to study sincerely and learn to give respect to elders.

On this occasion children showed their talents in singing, dancing, drawing and painting in which the teachers Shaloo and Mamta guided them.

Among the children Suraj, Karan, Arman, Gaurav, Neha, Principal, Shubhi, Durga, Komal, Kajal and Nidhi took part in various events. Pankaj and a group of children sang a song called “Sri Ganesh Deva.” Some children rendered the prayer “Jaya Ganesh Deva” melodiously.

Later Brahma Bhojan (Food offered to God) was served to all the children of Divya Nagari in the afternoon. They were given gifts by the Brahma Kumaris and Guests at the end. Notebooks, pencils and erasers were distributed to all the children who participated with enthusiasm.

BK Vijay Dev, Nagesh Singh, Vidya Singh, Neha Tiwari and Praveen Saxena all made the program very lively. The presence of the public in large numbers also contributed to the Camp being successful.
