“Peace to the Human Soul and Peace to the Human World” – A Panel Discussion in Moscow

Moscow (Russia):  A panel discussion on the theme Peace to the human soul and peace to the human world was held at the Brahma Kumaris Center in Moscow with the participation of BK Sudha Rani Gupta, Senior Raja Yoga Teacher and the Additional Regional Coordinator of Brahma Kumaris in Russia; Professor Yuri Kurnosov, Chairman of the Russian Analytical School Project, Member of the Union of Writers of the Russian Federation; Dr. Roja Tumma, Radiologist, Deputy Chief Director of Global Hospital, Mount Abu, India; Inga Koryagina, Psychologist, Associate Professor, Russian University of Economics named by Plekhano, Moscow.

Each panelist was asked to reply to three questions:

  • What is meant by the expression “peace in the world”?
  • What are the ideas for maintaining peace in the world?
  • What are the practical steps being taken to achieve peace in the world?

BK Sudha emphasized that world peace is emerging in our minds. If a person believes that there was peace in the world, then there is definitely the seed of calm, quietness, and peace in his nature. People with a devilish nature are not able to believe in it. To become one of those who believe in peace in the world, it is important to test yourself, change yourself for the better, reminding yourself of your initial calm nature, and grow the seed of peace in the world in your mind and heart.

BK Dr. Roja shared her practical experience about how to keep the atmosphere calm. She said to start the day with a smile, give good wishes to everyone, say inspirational words, and support everyone with a positive, healthy internal attitude. Because peace in the world begins with each of us and we are responsible for maintaining it every moment, without allowing the circumstances to disturb our inner self. It is important to maintain self-esteem and respect for everyone. This is our real contribution to peace of mind and peace in the world.

Professor Kurnosov emphasized that for a Russian, peace in the world means peace without war. However, as people, we are able to solve any problem without weapons, through a peaceful diplomatic way. People can be united by their love of truth, responsibility, and service to the world. May there be more love, good intention and care for each other.

Mrs. Inga Koryagina noted that people today lack a positive example, and if we become such an example for others, they will follow us. Never stop being a shining star of peace for others. People need the living lighthouses of the world who show them the way. It all begins with us.

The speeches, discussions, dialogue, comments, questions, etc., were quite live and the panelists could together affirm that peace in the human soul will become an instrumental force to bring peace in the human world.

The program was attended by people committed to peace and non-violence, who participated in the dialogue with a common affirmation that a day will come when humanity will come together to achieve the common goal of “peace in the world”.

“International Day of Peace is celebrated as a day of universal ceasefire and non-violence. The question arises: Can I live my day peacefully? Or maybe I kill someone with a rude word, burn from anger, commit violence in the form of insult, criticism, disrespect? Am I doing something that makes people suffer? The dove became a symbol of peace. The specificity of this bird is that it flies to the temple. The dove will not fly to the cemetery. There are no wars in the temple. They come there for peace of mind. The goal of spirituality is to revive peace and quiet in the soul, and to make every soul a temple. Then peace will reign in the whole world. May the dove of peace fly to each of us and each one of us open to it the doors of the temple, ‘me the soul’,” said BK Irina Lemberg, Moscow.

The program was completed with a collective meditation to preserve peace in the world.
